2018 MINI Convertible Cooper S 2dr Convertible (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 6M)

I recently began having a problem with my 2018 Mini. The top wouldn't go down. I went to the dealer today to have it checked out. They charged me $221 for a diagnostic fee to tell me what was wrong. Apparently one of the cables in the mechanism broke. In order to resolve the problem I need to buy a frame that includes the cables. They quoted me a price of $4600- I'm really disappointed that a car that isn't that old would have such an expensive repair. The cost is almost half the value of my car. I sent an e-mail to the corporate offices of Mini Cooper. They did call me back and they said they would review the problem and if it were something that would have been covered by warranty, they would cover the cost. Several days later they called back and said they wouldn’t cover the cost. This is all happening shortly after I paid $1300 to replace a motor mount, and $300- to replace a burned out tail light. I'm not going to have the roof fixed, due to the cost. I basically own a hard top car now. My Mini only has 47, 000 miles. I'm going to hold on to the car while I decide what to replace it with. Just thought I'd share my experience...The quality of these cars is terrible, and the support from Mini Cooper/BMW has been a terrible customer service experience.
