Traded in the GLK350 for this ML350. Although the GLK was a great vehicle, the ML affords me more space and is much more comfortable. Can't say enough about this vehicle and recommend it to anyone who wants a comfortable SUV. For those who worry about fuel consumption, averaging 24 MPG in mixed driving and expect to do better. Very quite inside and very classy inside and out. Try it, you'll like it!!

This is a big SUV but very light on its feet. Good visibility, good steering and a great turning radius are all part of equation. The backup camera is excellent, the seating position very good, the performance as good with this V6 as my XC90 Volvo was with its V8 with about 20% better MPG. Also, very quiet at speed. The knock on Mercedes was a premium package that wasn't premium; but the premium one package now includes what most people want (except for HID headlights; shame, Mercedes!), and that makes it value for money. Ten thousand less than an X5. Navigation works well, but the scream you get when you press the Embrace button will make ear drums bleed. What's up with that?

I got this Mercedes SUV diesel Bluetec 2012 new from dealership. from day one I had problem. I bought this around 55 K and it blue book value after 5 years is around 22K. car was treated right but had issue with condensation of front shield make it dangerous to drive in cold weather, dealer didn't do anything about it. . recently the sign for coolant was appeared , add antifreeze . My wife along with my daughter was driving it and all of the sudden engine stalled, had to call 911 to get protection because of location of the car on the side of the road. car was towed to dealership and the say the engine was seized and need new engine with price tag of 27 K and 2 K labor .Interesting enough no explanation why did it happen. some research showed these cars have issue with oil cooler and leakage can happen . the problem is sign of coolant doesn't tell you what kind of coolant. car this expensive should warn you better. I never buy Mercedes again.

Engine noise on warm startup

Hi , I read many reviews or complaints regarding the famous engine noise or knocking that lasts 2-3 seconds only on warm start up after the car has sat for 1-2 hours but not completely cooled yet.I believe I have the explanation for it since I had the same thing in my old 1991 E260, simply the problem is that mercedes uses an oil pressurized system for the variable camshaft timing of the valves, there is different setups for cold or warm start guided by the car computer, in cold start system is fully drained but pressure not needed in that system for cold cam timing, in immediate restart system still fully oil pressurized so no noise, in between u hear the noise, no effect on engine life :-)

We replaced our 08 ML. The fit and finish are as expected, the performance for a 6cyl is good, but...I have a 2011 Jeep Compass (I won't spend the money. It's a car, it's not a fashion statement) and the radio will quickly connect my phone through bluetooth for complete hands free. It downloads my contacts, it has voice recognition, it streams music from my micro sd card, and it streams music from my internet connections(pandora, slacker etc). The Merc won't do it. My wifes phone is the same as mine. Now while the average user may not appreciate this. When you pay 3x for a vehicle you don't expect customer service or the factory to make excuses for why it doesn't work. Disappointed for sure.
