Best Benz.....Ever

The S class is always considered the "best" Benz, well this EQS in 580 form is better than its internal combustion counterpart in every way except one, as a limousine. Its faster, handles better, is quieter, and brakes significantly better. Its ride is as sublime as the gas model. Finally it aces its gas counterpart in the most important criteria of these vehicles, Its a better isolation chamber, the rest of the world around you disappears. All you hear is beautiful sounds from its excellent Burmester audio while wafting down the highway at any speed in utter comfort and safety. Its quite frankly a remarkable car in all respects, plus its an extraordinary EV as far as range, speed of charging and so on. It makes range anxiety an obsolete term.

We have owned the 450+ for 6 months (took 6 mos to get) and love it. Beautifully finished, extraordinarily comfortable - the luxury sedan we wanted. Traded in our Lexus LS which was 10 years old (and had 25,000 miles!) as we wanted electric and Lexus wasn't ready. UPDATE: This is our “city” car and we don’t put many miles on it - 5000 a year. We keep the car for at least 8 years so we decided we might as well take the leap to electric. We are well past retirement age. We installed a charger in our garage and it is a convenient breeze to charge which, for us, is only once a month or so. Our last two cars were LS lexus. We wanted luxury and have gotten it in spades. It is a beautiful car to drive (even back wheels turn making u turns easy). Outside of the fact it is almost like driving a computer, we love it. It is, obviously, so quiet and refined. The “heads up” feature is great and very graphic. There have been 0 problems in the over a year we have had it. OK, another year has gone by and the car has been flawless. Zero problems - still love it.

Best all around city, highway and country road driver ever!! Quiet, exceptional ride, exceptional handling, exceptional in negotiating tight city spaces (rear wheel steering!!!). Did I mention acceleration - impressive, especially for a 3 ton car. Not a race course car, but much better in non-race course driving - better overall than my E550 Cabriolet (no slouch), and faster. Much less costly to refuel (recharge) than a gas guzzler - around $5-7 per charge. Range on an 80% charge is 340 miles +. Range on a 100% charge is 450+. What more could you ask for?

Best luxury EV on the market

Owned the model S and never liked the minimalistic ultra modern approach to $100k vehicle as well as was very unimpressed with the interior, paint and ride quality for the price. Needed a daily driver as have to drive 100 miles per day for business. Was a bit hesitant as it was a new concept for MB and those are known to have questionable reliability. The pros: amazing plush ride, impressive interior quality, better Wh/mile than wife’s much lighter and smaller Model 3, super useful trunk space and dropping rear seat if needed, adequate power and handling even though it is their “base” trim. Cons: laggy software/processor, a couple of interior rattles, can’t really think of anything else, just nitpicking. Breaks complaints are bogus. It is all about the regeneration settings. Change is to sport and test then. Huge disks and calipers, stops on the spot. Overall very satisfied and recommend to everyone to try before pulling the plug on the S-Class.

I bought a steeply discounted 580 EQS back in August with 4K miles. I had a few challenges initially even though the car was CPO. blow out of a tire. spontaneous opening of the charging door. a few weird messages on the screen that went away. None of these bother me because, it's an amazingly smooth driving, fast, comfortable electric car. Great effort. Looking forward to settling in for a while with this one.

An expensive electric toy!

I have owned Mercedes-Benz for over a decade, having every model they make. I was very anxious to get the eqs 450 Plus at the end of 2021, a 2022 model. It was in for a recall every month, the brakes were horrible, and the tires were the utmost worse. It is hard to believe that Mercedes as a manufacturer put such poor quality rubber, on such an expensive car. I sold it after 5 months. When the screen went totally down, and you were literally blind because everything worked on cameras. The dealer was reputable, but really didn't know what to fix. I further went with a Mercedes eqb and again taking a car designed for an ice engine, and making it into an EV, what's the poor way to approach the EV market. It doesn't did not even have power seats, only a backup camera, and regenerative braking was questionable. After owning 23 Mercedes-Benz, I left the eqb after 5 months and went with a Volvo c40 recharge, basically the same price range. A world of difference. Mercedes should get their act together as a high-end manufacturer and maybe take the lead from Volvo as they come up with their ex 30 and ex 90 next year. I don't know why they have been such a big failure so far but they may redeem themselves in the future.

Very smooth ride and comfortable. Plush interior compared to my previous 2020 Tesla S long range. I have the pinnacle trim which is nice. Bought an adapter for my previously installed Tesla charger from Amazon. Still have a little range anxiety as I stepped down from a tesla. My only gripe is the brakes not being very sharp. Bought 3 days ago. Find myself driving more conservatively compared to the tesla which is good in my case!!

The car rides smooth but brakes ate the worst. I was going about 60mph and had to suddenly stop. I was almost in the middle of the intersection before the car came to a complete stop. Also, the account blows as loud as an airplane engine. Even when I set the ac on a level 1 at 80 degrees during the summer. Customer service can't help much with this new car. Terrible car for the price.

WORST CAR EVER MADE BY MERCEDES

Locked me out numerous times while i was loading the groceries in the back & closed to sit in the driver side with keys inside & they wont open remotely either now, wear & tear on the car is ridiculous 10-15k miles need breaks & tires r bold, only done by dealership so your out a few grand each time, the app to control the doors & engine never works EVER always says requesting so don't waste ur $$ subscribing! The keys fly off the blade bc the button to release is located where u grip with ur hand super dumb, cost $1,500 to replace & reprogram so they sell the casing now for $100. Trunk wont release half the time you have to force it to open. Drives nothing special especially since your brakes wear out at record speed i was told by mechanic in their dealership the battery was made too heavy for the vehicle thus causing all of this unnecessary spending to maintain it. Nail in the tire will cost your $500-$600 bc special system inside no tire shop would touch it to fix must be replaced! Finger print for ur profile stops working in like a week. Door handles pop out and stay open sometimes had to replace 2 of them already on separate occasions. Sensors are not as good as my previous car either inoperable or not functioning at the moment, had my old car 10 years not one problem S550 this worst nightmare of my life, it is not stable either slides when you break fast in the rain with new tires, yes i made sure I am a mechanics child grew up in shops all my life.

Worthy Star on the road

I was looking for a long range electric vehicle to replace a Tesla Model S. The 2022 EQS450+ fit the bill. A MB-certified preowned car caught my eye and I flew 750 miles to inspect and purchase the car on the spot at a well rated dealership in Huntsville, AL. I drove the car home in one stretch. 2 weeks in and 2000 miles later, this car checks all my boxes. Although it has just the base trim, I miss nothing, save for the heated steering wheel. PROS: 1) Excellent range. The car means what it estimates in terms of miles of range. Unlike my former Model S, which was considerably over-optimistic with approx. 20% over-promising and under-delivering, this fine Benz’s range prediction is spot-on. Even during a recent cold snap (Feb. 2025 polar vortexes be thanked), the range was more than generous. I’m getting well over the promised 350 miles with normal, at times spirited driving. 2) Smooth ride. You hear nothing except a little wind noise and the tires (aka season OEM) sing their usual song. 3) Seat comfort. I’m 6.2’ and had never been in a more supportive and perfectly fitting drivers seat. The initial drive home (10 hrs) in one stretch was a piece of cake. 4) Charging speed and navigation to chargers: I was used to Tesla’s reliable long trip charging suggestions and liked it very much for its reliability and simplicity. The EQS was an equal match and guided me to chargers reliably and with great accuracy both re. battery power remaining and directions. I selected fast chargers only and managed the 780 mile long trip home with 3 stops, starting with a full battery: 32 min, 18 mins and 15 mins, reaching my destination with 42% battery remaining. Total charging cost was shy of $120. 5) Rear bench and trunk: comfortable and more than ample space in Row 2. With my drivers seat settings, my equally tall son could easily stretch out behind the drivers seat. The trunk is enormous and I liked the hatchback style trunk lid on my Tesla S so much that I wanted that again. Two adult bikes fit perfectly, with the rear seats folded. 6) Interior: Elegant. LED lights are awesome and prevent fatigue with their changing patterns. Sound system is very good. Simplicity of the logical MBUX system, you’re just 2 clicks away from the main screen at all times. 7) Adaptive cruise control: Works really well. I had it on for most of my 780 mile drive home, the car keeps it’s selectable distance, in heavy traffic and a miles-long traffic jam it safely came to a full stop and began accelerating again on its own, keeping the pre-selected distance from the car in front of me. It works seamlessly, reliably and smoothly. Very safe. Other comments; I like the incoming air filtration system, a standard on all trims. Shape of the car is a personal preference, it looks much better in person than in photos, IMO. CONS: Really none thus far. Will update this review if anything comes up. I very much like this Mercedes - it’s my first car from this brand. Can comfortably recommend it.

While driving this car in someways feels like riding on a magic carpet, it has such dangerous actions where I felt my life was in danger. The local Mercedes dealer has worked on my car for weeks and they can’t fix it. I’ve only owned it for a few months, but I want my money back, all of it.

Yes, might be an old man’s car, but that’s our secret 🥴. Purchased as CPO 2022 EQS with 10.5 k miles over 14 months ago. Family humor is what is he getting next after usually less than year of ownership? Several road trips & use of both EA, ChargePoint, & EV-go & latest trip Tesla magic docks. Yes, Tesla still the best, but others did work… probably just luck. Have owned 3 Teslas, on Genesis GV60 evs & this far exceeds them. Range in warmer weather 60 + degrees is always close to 400 miles if 70mph on highway. Winter time in New England does take a hit on range like all evs. Only negative for me is Mercedes lack of OTA updates like both Tesla & Genesis. Distronic does all I need in ADAS. Bridgestone tires still reasonable after over 20 k miles. A bit more road noise as they have aged. Would prefer 20” wheels & tires over the 21s. As of this writing, still nothing in current evs that strike my fancy. 2 years left in CPO warranty. Actually considering the extended CPO warranty for the car for additional 2 years. Of course, the way the EV technology is going, who knows what is coming. Last thought is Mercedes sales on this product in USA HAS BEEN DISMAL. Probably cost of new. Might have a classic in the making….😁
