This car is built solid. It's fast, fun and drop-dead gorgeous. Superb styling..glad I didn't buy the '03 420 cab. Gas mileage is quite good for a V8, 302hp. I get 18-23. Order a 320 if you are concerned about gas mileage! Feels like a coupe inside with very nice roof liner; very quiet for a ragtop. A bit pricey, but will hold its value due to demand. You'll have to wait to get it. Dealers are not getting very many cars.

CLK and Truth

I have owned this car for all of 1 month now. I read the reviews and everyone has an opinion. For the most part good, a few not so good perhaps. I have been a BMW driver for over a decade and this is my first Mercedes Benz. While I am used to a younger, sportier appeal in cars, the CLK 320 has changed my whole view of MB and the definition of fun, safe, sporty and elegant. If you have reservations about this car at all, I'm here to put your mind at ease. You will not be disappointed. You will probably drive this car for a long long time. My commute has become the fun part of my day!

I have owned several high performance cars including 2 BMW's. The CLK500 is, without a doubt, the best car I have ever driven - and I loved the Bimmers. It looks beautiful (I get compliments from strangers all the time), and it drives even better. The engine's performance is thrilling and the handling is superb. It is absolutely a thrill to drive. A friend of mine traded his brand new E500 for a CLK500 after riding in mine! Its also much more practical than the SL series or the SLK, because it has a functional back seat (I have two young teens to haul around), although not very good for long trips.

Gotta love this car ... with the kids gone, a coupe was back in the picture .... great styling , performance , and finishes were key to the purchase decision. Chose the 320 over the 500 mostly due to its fuel economy and its power was more than enuf for my largely highway driving

This is a fantastic car to own. Sleek fast and a sheer pleasure to drive. Do not get the ventilated seats, makes them ride like hell. I didn't think I could pay $60 grand for a car and think it was worth the money. But I cannot wait to get another. Mercedes far excedes the customer service of the big 3. I leased mine for less than my Dad leases a 300c.

The CLK320 is a great little car. It has been somewhat unreliable in that it is 2 years old, has 45K miles, and has been returned to the dealer numerous time for various problems, mostly electrical. Overall, it has great power for a V6, but still gets good gas mileage. Syling is fantastic and the interior

My CLK is <6 months old and has been in the shop more than every car I have ever owned over 20 years combined and I haven't even had an oil change yet! The glove box wouldn't close before I even drove my new car off the lot requiring multiple days to fix with a complete dashboard overhaul. Then the driver door had a rattle that required a "bolt to be tightened". A month later the rattle occurred on the passenger side. Then the seat belt arm extension stopped working - all requiring days of service. I gave my thoughts to JD Power & Associates and asked if others had these types of problems - the answer an emphatic yes!

Picked up the 2004 Designo model CLK 500 Cabriolet. Best vehicle I've had the pleasure of driving. Smooth ride, amazing acceleration power (clocked it at 0 to 80 (not 60) in 7.2 seconds. THAT'S smokin'. The design of the "designo" model is second to none. I must admit I feel guilty getting into this vehicle. So I went and sponsored a child at Feed the Children. Really!

I leased a 2001 that had nothing but problems. They assured me that it was extremely rare. Sucker! I leased a 2004 on condition that if I had problems they would let me out of the lease. Sucker! Even worse than the first one, and guess what, they won't even return my phone calls about getting out of the lease. The car spent so much time in the shop getting the same things fixed that I don't bother any more. Seats don't work, windshield makes cracking sounds, gas tank doesn't fill properly, cruise control analog/digital readings don't match, brakes squeal, and much more. Never get this car! My wife's BMW has never had a day of trouble. When I finally ditch this lemon I'm going BMW.

The CLK500 is really in a class of its own. It more luxurious and comfortable that the 3 series and it is not seen at every corner or around every block. It doesn't punish the driver over rough road yet it is able to still provide an adrenaline rush when you push down on the accelerator firmly. Also insofar as styling I believe it looks authoritative without looking overly designed or gimmicky. The seats are very comfortable, the climate control is easy to operate and the sound system is really rather pleasant sounding. The low tone exhaust system reminds you in an non-intrusive way that a muscular V8 is awaiting your need for speed.

Waited 5 months for car to be delivered. Within 3 months of delivery we had a leak in the transmission that left the car inoperable. After two visits, they replaced the trans. Next the Zenon headlight started shorting out; it had to be replaced. Next was alignment issues, this car will wear out top quality tires in less than 12k miles of normal driving! My car has had to be aligned 3 times in 2 years. Next was the seatbelt, the mechanism that hands you the belt had to be replaced. And finally, today my wife is at the dealership having a gear replaced in the tilt steering mechanism. I am so disappointed in this car! I thought I was buying the best, but, I got a lemon! Buyer beware.

Seems the Germans hit this one out of the park. Top opens easily, style to spare, a real head-turner. Mine is triple black & I love it. Sounds like a real super-car and performs like one as well. I've had other sports cars but this one is my favorite for several reasons listed and some not willing to admit to here. Can't wait for the CLK63 as soon as my lease is up. I got this car in May, 03 when my leased was ended with BMW 3 series. The CLK is powerful and hot looking. However, the quality is no comparison with BMW. The car engine is noisy, lack of cup holder, electronic problems like my navigation will suddenly go blank, the cd changer can't detact my cd and etc, AC is not cold, the stereo is not as good as i expect from BOSE ( Harmon kardon in BMW is better ). I am just wondering what Chrysler has done on this car and didn't expect paying over 58k would get this kind of car. After a year driving this car, i am swtiching back to BMW.

Bought it new in 03, and have it as a second car. A few minor problems like flicker in tail light, sunroof one touch and stuck on ABS light on dash since then but nothing big. One thing that is VERY annoying is the complicated "computer" that's accessed through a series of pressing four buttons in certain sequence on the steering wheel. You can never find what you want easily and you can have an accident while you are fiddling with it while driving!! Setting the clock?? You need a degree in engineering to do it. Having an older BMW the controls were very simple one touch on one single button.

This car has all the bells, whistles, toys, etc!!! It seems that everything was thought of on this model. PRO: The car itself. It is built well, zero problems so far. After breaking in, the car seems to adapt to your driving style in an almost eerie manner. It is almost like it can read minds... CON: The fuel mileage is horrid but I knew what I was getting into at the altar!! Other than that, this thing is great!!!

I had a CLK coupe prior, and this is a wonderful improvement! It handles like a dream, and feels great to be in. It's very comfortable, and roomier than the prior version. People are always giving compliments are coming over to take a closer look. I do suggest getting the power trunk closer, as the trunk lid is more difficult to handle than it's predessor.

I have had the car a week and if initial impresssions are lasting then I made the right decision in purchasing the most expensive car I have ever purchased. However, I figure with its higher than average residual value that I should recoup something more at the end. The car is a delight to drive - it gets stares wherever I go (with many oohs and ahs) - people tell me how beautiful it is and the color combination is perfect: pewter with ash interior w/Black top. I don't like to write long reviews - I will simply state it was worth the money (paid exactly MSRP) and the wait (six months).

Clk-320 is a great car, fun to drive. A little snug and low, but so are most sports cars. Don't like cup holder. Have blown two tires in 5 months, how?/why? Very smooth ride, quick. Excellent audio. Can't stand air system, too loud when on high, which is all the time in the summer if you want to be cool. Mercedes telecom system stinks compared w/ GMC OnStar. Cheep tire jack. No satellite radio. Love the car, but a tad disappointed.

After a test drive on the 2004 Coupe, I was done for. It is just too exciting to drive. I had to have it. I've only had one other car that got the blood pumping like this - a BMW 540i. But this car is pure power and fits the driver like a glove. THe 302HP engine purrs like a lion and then springs to life. The cockpit is well designed, with most controls in easy reach. The computer can be programmed in all the expected luxury ways. Seems like MBZ did a great job on this.

This is an awesome car. Slightly smaller than the E500 but much more nimble ... Power is abundant and the handling is crisp and smooth at the same time. Front seating is great for the taller driver ... I'm 6ft 4in and it fits perfectly. Rear passenger room is comfortable as well (a bit tight behind a tall driver) ... Haven't seen many new CLK's on the road ... especially the CLK 500's which is why people stare ... Love the way when both windows are down, it creates a very open feeling in the car (almost like a convertible) ... Build quality is much better than the E, C, ML classes (even the material is better like in the CL and S classes).

My new MB is a beauty both inside and out but the balky shifting of the auto trans has spoiled my enjoyment. This is especially true going up and down hills. It's like it just doesn't want to shift. There is no such thing as coasting down hill to improve mileage as it just slows down unless you give it some gas. The mileage is another issue (11 City and 20 Highway).

but I don't miss it. The CLK convertible is better (but the 325 cheaper ;-). I actually like the fact that it comes with casssette as standard, so I can connect my ipod (which wasn't possible in the 325). If there is anything I don't like, then it is the trunk, apparently there is no way of closing it without touching the car on the outside ... Next time I would pay for the "elecronic trunk closer" option (490$)

The fastest and most powerful vehicle I have ever driven, the car just feels like it wants more no matter how much you give it.
