BEAUTIFUL CAR
BEST CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN. I love it!! I would reccomend it to anyone. It is a great alternative to the BMW 3 series.
c240 always in the shop
I've had my C240 for 28 months now and it has had 21 repairs done on it. Bought the car in Arlington, Va and now live in Scottsdale, AZ. My attempt to get MB to take back this car and get me into another MB car have failed. I'm very dissapointed in the reliability of this car and second, that the mfg. won't stand behind their product. The problems: electrical, sunroof motor, power seat motor, door wouldn't open from the inside, fuel gauge wouldn't read accurately (this one is especially great with a wife and two month old daughter) and more electrical problems! Wish I would have bought the BMW.

Not what you expect from Mercedes
I bought my car in Apr of 2001 thinking "yeah it's alot of money for a car but it's Mercedes!. Within a few months, I had to take the car back to the dealer because it was making clicking noise from windows and the remote key wouldn't work sometimes. I got it fixed. Then the trunk wouldn't open. I got it fixed. Now the lock (the piece that goes up and down) popped out completely and the lock wouldn't work again. It's just one thing after another. I don't think I will ever buy a Mercedes again. If I am spenging $37K on a small car like this, I want quality and durability since it's definitly not the size of the car I am paying for.
Don't Buy
My wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a MB. Big mistake. C240 was cheapest of the fleet but this car still cost $39,000 and has been nothing but trouble. Constant electrical problems. Car has actually died at stop lights. We were going to start with the C240 and move up to and E- Class. We are now looking at the BMW 5 series.
Disappointed in Chicago
I bought this car after driving a Volvo for 5years - the 850Glt. Went for the safety (eight airbags) and class of driving a MB product. I thought I was taking a step up...I was very mistaken. First the seat comfort does not nearly compare to the Volvo. Second the interior room - particularly the backseats - is terrible. Engine performance for price is lackluster. The Volvo850 GLT w/ turbo was the same price (year-on- year) and lacked about 30hbp. One did not feel confident accelerating onto expressways - particulalrly the Eisonhower and Eden's in Chicago...The C240 is not worth it - PERIOD.
