Best car that I've ever purchased. I read about the RX-8 in 2001, I told my local dealer thaen that I wanted to purchased it.I reveived delivery on 7/18/03 and went on a two week, 5000 mile road trip. It was a great trip without any problems. The RX-8 is a fun auto to drive. I put it to the "test" - Hot weather in Texas,New Mexico & Death Valley, moutains in Colo & Ca, Highspeed driving in Ut. IT'S A GREAT VALUE FOR THE PRICE. I just hope that the dealers don't mark-up the price and reduce the market for the RX-8

Picked mine up yesterday, what a fun car to drive. It's fast, the engine sounds great, it's comfortable (6'2"), and it's beautiful. I disagree with the earlier review about the interior looking cheap, far from it. It's superior to the 350Z, more in line with a Boxter.

The only thing I can say is, if you haven't driven a Mazda RX-8 yet, you are missing out on the car experience of your life...come on, go out and test drive one now, I dare you not to like it.

After several months of research, I finally purchased my RX-8. I love the automatic because of the "manual" option. I think it is so cool to be able to change gears on the steering wheel. It's like a video game. I have one baby and the car seat fits perfectly in the backseat. If you are thinking about it, just go buy it. You won't regret it.

The title says it all. From the moment I thought of buying one, I kept dreaming of what it would be like to drive behind the wheel of a red, with black/red interior RX8. The answer, it's a dream.

I had an 1978 RX-7. This car shares only the RX. It's an awesome vehicle.

Waited a long time since I preordered the car, and am glad I did. It lives up to the hype with the handling, the ride and the size inside. It also catches alot of attention. A couple of Porsche drivers and another in a Maserati turned around to look when I drove by just to see what kind of car it was. I definitely like the Velocity Red the best, and the GT package.

It's tough having a car salesman for a husband. He brought the RX-8 home for lunch one day, and I owned it that night. I've never liked driving - but I LOVE this car! Now I wish I had to drive further to get to work every day! No fear of tipping over (like with my Santa Fe); holds the road, corners, changes lanes like a dream. I am a believer! I'll trade off the mediocre fuel economy for the fun and satisfaction of an awesome looking and driving car!

This car gathers attention from young and old wherever it goes. Being a sports car fanatic, the driving experience in this car is nothing short of amazing. I didn't know they could make a car that can do the things this car does...all with speed, finese, composure and grace. Superlative job Mazda!

The RX-8 is hands down the most fun I've ever had in a factory street car. My experience was tempered by a bad rear main seal from the factory. After the first 500 miles I had oil everywhere. Warranty service was outstanding and all seems OK now. Mazda's email response from their website was weak-kneed.

Wow...AM I IMPRESSED! Of all sports cars I've previously owned, S2000, Boxter, 300zx, Eclipse, and we can't forget my favorite previous vehicle, RX7. Price is excellent on this car too; Best bang for the buck on sports cars to date. This car is by far my favorite. The salesman,Chris Kimbel from Bell Road Automall, had the best knowledge toward my car as far as any other Mazda Salesman that I've heard from. Thank you Chris and Thank You Bell Road Mazda.

I test drove this car and fell in love! I handles like a front wheel drive vehicle with the beef and clout of a rear wheel drive sports car. Highly recommend driving it. It is an absolutely fun car with a splash of practicality!

Plenty of zoom zoom and room for a 6'4" man. Gas mileage is about 17mpg in town or on highway. Must be my lead foot. Shifts smooth and has plenty of get up and go.

Just purchased my new RX-8 6 speed. What an awesome car! I've owned 3 Miata's in the past 10 years, and this car is like the big brother (sturdy, fast, cool...). With 2 kids and a wife, this thing is even practical! The rotary engine is king! Sounds like a jet engine!

This car gets looks. The engine isn't annoying. The problem is the car has a tendency to flood. Tow truck drivers tell you that you're not the only one. They are towing these quite often. That is the hate it part. The love it part is this is a fun car to drive. Then engine has poor low-end pick up, but one you pass 3,000RPM, the car is fun to drive.

A performance vehicle that is also practical is hard to find in todays market. With its good looks, performance and practicality, the RX8 owns this market. Pros: Unique appearance Easy ingress, egress with "freestyle" doors Go Kart like road holding Good ergonomics Good acceleration if revs are kept up Cons: Somewhat harsh ride over rought roads but an acceptable for the handeling (it is a sportscar!) Small gas tank (limited range) OK sized trunk but small opening Pedals are slightly offset to the right. Built quality seems good. Renesis motor seems strong in my car and I have not had the flooding problem experienced by others. It's fun to wave at the other '8's you see

The car is great. It is agile and the back seat is useable for adults. We have learned the back seat sequence of steps - open doors, front seat forward, person in seat back. Once in it is comfortable. I have discovered storage bins in several places and there is a pass-thru even though some reviews say not. I am still disoriented by the radio controls but the rest of it is great. The nighttime interior lighting is gorgeous - neon blue, red and dome spotlight. A VERY well designed car.

I've had my RX-8 for a little less then a week now and I absolutely love it!! The style originally caught my eye, but the way it handles and the power is what finally won me over! I didn't think anything could get me out of my Camaro, but the RX-8 sure did it. Love the velocity red with leather interior.

I've had two RX-7's and thought they were both terrific. I had very high expectations for the RX-8. The expectations were exceeded. This is an outstanding car.

Beautiful design, sleek, agile, with just the right blend of top ten performance and top five comfort and drivability! At under $26k for the base model it is an unparalleled value. Oh yeah you can get a OEM modified turbo Subaru WRX, or a turbo Mustang that will slightly outperform the RX8 0-60, but they are just souped-up sedans that do not inspire the thoroughbred sports car vision like the Mazda RX8, Nissan 350Z, Porsche Boxster, BMW Z4... There is no comparison as far as class and value when it comes to my RX8!!!

This is my favorite car ever, and i have loved it since the second i bought it. I love how it handles every turn so smoothly and i love just turning down the music and listening to the sound of the rotary motor just spinning away. It is so peaceful just to sit there listening to it i could almost fall asleep. This car IS a dream come true.

Fun car to drive. Sprots package with auto trans. Lots of positive comments reagarding styling. Unusual layout of interior gauges and switches, but workable. Car is rock steady at speed and highly maneuverable and responsive. Air contioner is a bit anemic and could be colder as well as quieter. Ride is firm and reassuring, but not uncomfortable. Gas mileage is fair(18mpg), but could be better.

I bought my RX-8 about a month ago. I LUV this car. It is so much fun to drive. I live in Texas, and not many people know what it is..It is funny to see people watch my car, there are some major downsides to owning this car though. 1. The gas milage SUCKS 2. The automatic needs more horsepower. 3. taking care of the engine is a pain in the butt. You have to add oil every 3 or 4 gas fill-ups, You have be carefull not to turn your car off right after you start it, so if you are looking for a low mantainence car this is not the car for you. I love it, so I don't mind it too much.

We need better fuel economy! My 91 MR-2 Turbo gets better than the RX - 21 MPG. Rear seat is great for a 5'6 person but no taller with me at 6'1. I can not wait until someone comes out with a supercharger or turbo for this moderate 238 HP 215 torq dream car. The handeling is great if not true to a sports car handeling. Looks are its forte, smooth and unique. I would buy again if I had the choice.

Ergonomically correct vehicle with just the right touches. Young street-racers are not welcome in this car! If you don't need the fastest 0 - 60, then this is the sports car for YOU!

Get the best radar detector available on the market cuz you'll need it. This car just wants to goooooooooo. So much fun to drive. Makes me want to get up to go to work in the morning. The guys at work want me to put spinners on it, but I get enough attention without. Everyone wants to race me to see what this car can do. I love it cuz I blow them away. Corvette's, eat my dust!

Driven for 4 months now as my daily driver. I am very happy with it so far, with exception to poor gas mileage.. I get 15-17 mpg (70% highway miles). Never got above 17mpg, regardless of how I drove it. EXTREMELY smooth power delivery. Very unique jet-like sounding engine, nothing like I've ever heard. AWESOME. Radio is modular and has cool options like MP3 player or 6 disc changer swap, and a tape/MD add-on. Bose stereo system is decent, and can use more midrange and bass. Rear seats fit full size adults. Trunk space is surprisingly spacious, but lacks spare tire, but you get free 24- hr roadside assistance.

Shopped for 2 years before deciding on this one. Drove my Acura LS Coupe for years and absolutely love it, till I spotted the "8". Had a "7" before, so I knew the quality, but Mazda have out done themselves with this one. Definately a "roadstopper" of a vehicle. Love everything about it, except for the mileage but that's ok cause when filling up, you get a 1001 compliments and thumbs up :o)

Traded a 2002 Acura RL for this little red RX-8 w/Grand Touring Pkg. Gave up some luxury, but am having a blast driving it. Not a day goes by when someone doesn't ask me about the car. My RL never got this kind of attention.

This is my fourth Mazda built car and its the best yet. While those looking for a fuel efficient car should look elsewhere, this car has the best combination of comfort, performance and utility for those looking for a car that is truly fun to drive and somewhat unique.

This car rocks! Purchased it new as a 30th b-day present to myself and have no regrets. My first car was a 79 RX7 and then I had a 91 MR2 and this RX8 blows them both out of the water. It corners like a dream and the acceleration onto the fwy gives me a smile everytime. I've had it up to 140 mph and it had room for more - I just chickened out. I get looks and comments on it all the time. It's such a unique looking car. The 4 door aspect is really only good for lower insurance although the backseats are surprisingly roomy. No engine probs at all. Not good in the snow so luckily I have the luxury of garaging it for the winter and driving a beater 4x4. Gas mileage is a consistent 20.

Between the two cars I took into consideration for my next toy, the RX8 was the favorite. The design and performance does not compare to that of the 350z. Despite the 8's lack of hp, the handling is unbelievable. I'm a daily commuter and every morning I sit in the driver's seat, and I feel like a winner. If you have to make the choice between a sports car from the $25k-$35k range, get the 8!!!

I had been impatiently waiting for a couple months for the car to be available in my area. I have only had my RX-8 for two weeks, but it has been wonderful. The styling is close to exotic and I get lots positive comments about its looks. The performance is just what I expected, handles better than a porche, but not so fast that you will drive over your head easily.

Given the beauty/uniqueness of this car I was willing to overlook the constant need to add oil, the engine flooding, the poor gas mileage, the manufacturer recalls ... that was until my car burst into flames in the parking lot at work due to faulty wiring. The entire front end is incinerated and unrepairable. According to Mazda mine is the first ... hopefully it's the last.

I love my new RX8! This is definitely a driver's car. Great handling and great looking! I almost get distracted by the number of people who hang out their windows to get a better look at my car. Great car for the money!

The good news is, its a head-turner. The bad news is, its a head-turner. First two traffic tickets in the last 10 years came in the same week. (the cops didn't seem to notice me in a Tahoe) Love the car, yet disappointed with the gas mileage.

Great to drive and it gets more looks and compliments than a Porsche. Bad on gas.
