2005 Mazda 6 Sportwagon 3.0 V6

Bought this car used in 2018 with 92k miles on it, it now has 116k. Things that have gone wrong so far: Valve cover seals on both heads started leaking, power steering return hose leak, engine light on for warm up O2 sensor, new rotors needed all round, brakes all round seizing up. Regardless of this it has been fairly reliable and not broken down on me and is nice to drive. Just wish it didn’t need all these repairs with what isn’t really all that many miles on the clock. Wagon model is really practical with loads of cargo room, big enough to sleep in with the seats folded flat. 3.0 V6 engine is fairly lazy so don’t expect amazing performance from it. Average around 29mpg on highway and 20mpg in town. Wouldn’t get the V6 model again, but still giving it 4 stars.

This is the first new used car I ever bought and I love it. I'm in the military and I just came home from Iraq in Feb. '06. I wanted a car that defines myself and my hard work over the years. This car does it. It hugs the road, it's very nimble, and I love the engine roar. The factory stereo system is mind blowing. I hate that the Mazda dealerships charge so much for repairs. I had to buy a new transmitter for my keyless entry. Overall, great pick for a first car.

Purchased the car a little over 5 months ago. Within the 5 months, 3 headlight bulbs burnt out, license plate light burnt out, needed to do tcm and pcm reprogram, replaced both front brake lines, replaced both front axle boots and cv joints, cigarette lighter blows every fuse you put in, both front and back brake pads were replaced, display clock flickers. I am being a truthful person here. Do not always rely on reviews. This one is getting sold or traded in.

I am very impressed with the quality build of this vehicle. For a 4 cylinder engine, it's very smooth and punchy. The ride is very comfortable even on 4 hour trips. Interior is solid and functional. The handling is superb for this vehicle's class; it's precise and confident. I can imagine the ride to improve vastly with the V6 engine. It's a great daily commuter with a sportier flavor to it. Spirited driving is not a problem with this car.

Pure sports car in a compact(?)model. Corners on a dime and leaves change. Only problem I've had is a non-working trunk light. Good size fuel tank but the mileage could be better. Brakes are impressive with little nose dive. Only slight torque steer on heavy throttle. Reminds me of the old muscle cars but with the handling of a sports model.
