First class SUV - Beats the others

Love the new styling (gets lots of compliments), the build quality, the ride and most of the new features. While I wanted certain options like NAV system and Mark Levinson stereo, they only came with other options I didn't want or need. Heated seats in California? Rear seat DVD player for someone with no kids? Also looked at Mercedes (rode like a truck and not very reliable), BMW (great performance and actually more fun to drive, but also questionable reliability), and Acura MDX (it was nice and might have bought it but interior just looked a lot cheaper in comparison with RX 330).

NIGHTMARE

My RX330 was in for service 4 times in the 1st month that I owned the vehicle. They are unable to fix the alignment and I have had 3 speakers replaced & another broken one. No one from Lexus would return a call until the 4th time that I called and demanded to speak with a real person. They said they would replace my car and then said something different. McGrath wouldn't take it back because they said it was used. They gave me a defective car but no one would help......until I contacted an attorney.

I just bought the Lexus RX330 2004 yesterday, so far no complaints. Whom ever was the previous owner took immense care to keep it nice. The whole vehicle still looks & runs like new. It being a 2004 it only has 89k + miles on it, and it's just been very nice. Now with that in mind of course, I have read reviews, and such people saying that when it gets around the 90k mark things start going wrong with it, so I have a full 2 year coverage for just about anything that goes wrong with it. But for right now it's been a great 2 days so far. I'm on the hunt now to see about getting the onboard GPS updated on it, we'll see what happens.

Drove for almost 12 years and was very reliable. May purchase a similar new model.

A 40K+ Car Shouldn't Rattle

I started out loving this car. Excellent highway passing capability, spectacular emergency handling (saved my life on one occasion) and superior comfort. BUT little things mean a lot. After about 8000 miles a rattle developed under the dash. Soon it sounded as if the entire dash was shifting after a moderate bump. Still not resolved to my satisfaction. I've since learned that this is a problem endemic to early production units. Lexus should do better.
