No need to purchase anything else!
This car seems to have a hidden performance side. Those who own one no what I mean,( shift, down shift, punch it...whoooooaa!) I have embarrassed quite a few "sport cars" [( grin )] I quite agree with most of the 5 star reviews. I cannot find a reason to replace this car! I look for one, even compared it to the new LS 500, why Lexus would replace this V8 engine and not simply improve it...maybe...is beyond me. call me whatever but I will not spend upwards of 80k for a v6 anything while this LS exist and by the way, the gas mileage is unrivaled by any other large luxury car!...what's not to like?
Absolutely Elegant and Reliable
FIrst, this car is big. Get ready for 9.5 quarts of oil when you do your oil change. Second, the car is so smooth, so quiet and handles like a dream. I have owned Mercedes, BMW and Audi. This car is my favorite. While Mercedes and Audi beat it in handling as far as responsiveness goes, you'll fall in love with the luxury ride. The reliability after years of service is 4-star. Having spent a fortune on European car repairs (recently even. You would think I had learned not to buy German makes...oh well) this car is worth every dime for the peace of mind and the beauty of the drive.

Beats the hell out of Mercedes
I had 2 Mercedes and in the rain or snow I felt I was in a death trap Mercedes was in the shop more then on the road . Handling of the Lexus 460 L AWD is truly amazing for such a large car. cost of maintaining the Lexus is cheap compared to the MB . . Even in the worst snow storms this car handled amazing even above normal highways speeds. Dependability OUTSTANDING. Rear passenger seating is spectacular (shame they cant make the drivers seat with vibrators :-)

The Inside Melts
I am very disappointed in Lexus and Lexus Brand Engagement. My last three cars have been Lexus LS. My wife and I currently have two Lexus LS - a 2012 and a 2015. The interior of the 2012 is melting away (sticky and cracked) - especially the four arm rests, the glove box and center console. I brought the 2012 to the dealer yesterday and was told if I brought the car in by March all the parts would have been replaced free of charge with new ones under a customer support program ZLZ. I called Lexus Brand Engagement yesterday and spoke to them today. They claimed that they sent a notification to my wife in 2018. She does not recall receiving it. Since, I was unaware of the ZLZ program, I drove the car with all its flaws for several years. My wife and I have been servicing our cars at the same dealer since 2006. No one at the dealership ever commented on the deteriorating interior or the existence of the ZLZ program. According to the Lexus Brand Engagement representative it was my responsibility to report the problem, not the dealers. The logic - it was not a safety related issue. I am completely dissatisfied with this response.
last of the breed
the ls 460 as we know it , will be replaced shortly , with a a high tech version , too expensive for youngprofessionals , and too complicated for the over 45 crowd . the dash / interior is full of the features found on the 2013 GS model , which was released in may 2012 . The GS isn't exactly a barn burner in terms of popularity . the lexus factory is incentivising the current ls 460 models , where the price is close to a 2013 GS. ( + or - ) $ 60 k for a midsize bmw wanna be . if you are looking for the ultimate all around , ultra quiet , concert hall on wheels with status , grab an LS while they last .
