Interior Design Defects
Still have my LS 400 with nearly 500k miles. Hooray! My 2007 LS 460 currently has 198k miles. It's been great mechanically, I have replaced the Starter and of course the timing belt and water pump twice now. I have read on this thread about oil changes being $200 or so... Not with me. I just take it to a quick lube and pay about $60-65. It does require 9.5 quarts to my 400's nearly 5.0 quarts Still no problems. I have read wind noise also on this thread. I have it on my right door but not my left. Not concerned given that it is now a 12 year old car. Interior issue #1 is where the front seat belts rest. When unbuckled (as we all do) the belt sometimes viciously retracts to its original location, but when it hits the side just above the arm rest, there is a design that provides for a larger armed person so it is squared off (I hope this makes sense). Anyway, the metal part of the belt has taken "quarter size" chunks of foam material off of the door and its corner from both doors. REALLY BAD DESIGN. I have seen this issue on other 460's for sale in their sale photos. Lastly, the front seat heaters. One broke off by just turning it. My 400 is on the front dash where it belongs.

Wow!
This is so much superior to the LS 400 or 430 in style and features, and has much more get up and go. I love the handling and the brake hold is an innovation that I would not of imagined. I use it all the time. Very easy to program the car, even tho there are so many electronic marvels to use.

Best car ever
This is the most dependable, comfortable, best driving car that I’ve ever owned....and I’ve had quite a few. Repairs can be expensive sometimes but they are rare.

Just a bit better than outstanding!!
I have never driven a nicer car in my life time. It is so perfect, I don't know how they can keep up with the production of such a fine automobile. Everything about the car is quality. I don't know what they could do to make it any better, that is why I say that it is a little bit better than outstanding.
Expecting more from a hi dollar Toyota!
Bought a 11 yr old car with 121k, Sticker was 72K, bought it for 11,000. Should have been a red flag! First let me say,it's a comfortable sedan, great on highway driving! Until the gremlins come out! it has a part called a brake accuator, part of the ABS system that makes a racket every time you press the pedal!. Its well known to Toyota to fail, should have been a recall, but NOT! This part usually breaks after waranty expires. $3000 for part. Also as car wears, the road noises come out. Not talking tires. Reason I bought the car was a comfortable reliable ride, expected MORE!
