Dangerous PHEV failures
My 2022 Sorento PHEV has now failed 4 times. The failure is that the engine doesn't start while driving when the EV battery charge becomes too low to run the vehicle. Each time it happened was very dangerous. Once was in 4 lanes of dense NYC traffic, another was in a remote rural area and the other two times were at highway speeds on 3 and 4 lane NYC highways. My dealer found no fault codes, said they've never heard of this problem before and told me there is nothing they can do. The KIA warranty is a big reason why I purchased this Sorento but that warranty hasn't been worth a plug nickle thus far. I heavily advise against buying this very expensive, dangerous and unreliable vehicle.

KIA Mess
Car looks very good & gets great gas mileage. It's loaded w/ extremely Hi Tech options, many of which are too difficult to master & are dangerious at times... supplied manuals are difficult to digest & KIA support is absent. KIA's Customer Care/Support focuses mainly on window dressing like evasion of true customer support. I've had the car for going on 10 months & due to my 2nd potentially deadly KIA ReCall I've not been able to use the car for going on 6 months. KIA has no Recall resolution available for the car catching fire, even in your garage, due to a faulty Factory installed Trailer Towing pkg,

Dismal highway fuel economy for a PHEV
I love how the car looks, all the safety tech, and interior comforts. Due to availability issues I bought the car out of state. I used cruise control in Eco mode the entire way home and even fully charged the battery at my hotel. During my trip, I averaged 29.1 mpg which was way less than I expected even without a charged battery. To make it all the more painful, my check engine light came on just under 800 miles. My suggestion would be to save yourself the money and just buy the normal hybrid.
Amazing technology and gas mileage!
Absolutely love my new Kia Sorrento Plug-in Hybrid!
