2022 Hyundai Tucson SEL CONVENIENCE HYBRID Great build quality, great fit and finish, great looking, great to drive, great mileage, great technology, great safety features, great riding CUV! This trim comes well packed with plenty of great options. No leather covered seats. No Bose stereo, but a nice 6 speaker stereo that cranks fine. Only 10 colors of interior ambient lighting vs 64 in the Limited Trim. No Smaht Pahk. Other than that it is loaded. Lots of room. I love this CUV. Oh and a stunning value at $33,335. Don't forget the best warranty in the entire car industry. "Hyundai, tomorrows styling, safety, and technology, at last century prices" I own that!!!!!!! Update: 4/12/24 Still my favorite Hyundai ever. 37 MPG combined. Runs like a dream. Not a single issue. When I bought mine, I considered the best CUV value on the may. That opinion still stands. Rides smooth, quiet, and has enough power for my needs. In sport mode it's really got some quickness. No, it's not a super fast vehicle by any stretch, but it has zero acceleration lag or problems keeping up with any traffic. Given the prices of new cars, I'm keeping this for the long haul. Still looks like new as well. The silver color helps. It's unfortunate that Hyundai has jacked their prices so much. They're no longer a great value proposition IMO. The pricing now is likely to steer many towards Toyota, IMO.

We’ve owned this suv for a couple weeks now and put about a thousand miles on it. The Tucson has a lot of standard safety features, it’s ride is really smooth and quiet and has about the amount of power that you would expect from a four cylinder in an suv. So far my wife and I agree that this Tucson is hands down the best vehicle we have have ever owned!

Great Looking, Good in Snow, already had warranty

First off the 2022 Hyundai Tucson SEL is a great looking small SUV. I really like the styling. It also has impressed in the snow when we got a 10" dump here in SD. On the stock Michelin Primacy tires it did remarkably well. We upgraded to Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires for added piece of mind and haven't gotten any more snow since (go figure). Since we bought the Tuscon in Oct 2021 it has occasional misfires while driving it. It would feel like the transmission was slipping or hesitating but now I know it was the engine #2 cylinder misfiring. One day in Jan 2022 coming home from church the issue suddenly became significantly worse with loss of power and acceleration and the vehicle struggling to get up to 55 MPH. The next morning it stalled 3 times after starting it to go to work and would idle very rough (that made me know it was an engine issue and not transmission). On the way to work, it struggled again to gett up to speed, to accelerate and kept running rough. On the Interstate it wouldn't even get to 65 MPH and then was actually losing speed while my foot was to the floor. I pulled the gear selector over for manual mode and it immediately shifted down from 8th to 4th gear and I was in the mid 40 MPH range, again with my foot to the floor. So I dropped my wife off at work and drove to my job. That afternoon I had one heck of a time getting it started and keeping it running. I had to start it and keep it at about 3000 RPM. Finally made it to pick up my wife and again it was running very rough (4 month old and 2309 miles on the Odometer). So we went directly to the dealership and it's a good thing we did. I was only going to schedule a repair but the vehicle decided it wasn't going to leave the dealership parking lot so we had to get a ride home from the dealership (no loaner). We were told the next afternoon that it was a bad fuel injector. That part took over 3 weeks to arrive (from Canada, via Atlanta). We just picked up our hopefully fully repaired Tuscon yesterday. It's good to have our 2nd vehicle back. I am certainty not impressed with the issue happening so early. Or other vehicle is a 2021 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited. We have now owned 6 Hyundai /Kia vehicles including 2 Sonatas, Rio, Elantra, Niro and the Tuscon.

This is my third Tucson. I had a 2016, a 2018 and now a 2022 Hybrid SEL. I love the improvements Hyundai has made. The body style is absolutely awesome. The new head and tail lights are functional and very cool looking. The body moulding looks great and protects the paint along the bottom all around the vehicle. The Michelin all season tires and cool rims complete the hot looks on the outside of the Tucson. The interior is completely updated, also. So beautiful and comfortable! Never had a hybrid before but I get awesome gas mileage. The ride is very smooth. The 1.6 liter turbo motor has amazing pickup. Nothing sluggish about this SUV! Only 2 things I would change and they are incredibly minor- the console in the center of front seats is very roomy but there is no tray so all your stuff is just kinda in a jumble in there. I found one on Amazon that fits perfectly. The auto locks on the drivers side door are so sensitive that the car occasionally unlocks then locks again before you can open the door. Again both very minor issues. I love my new Tucson!

While Hyundai has a very good reputation and warranty if you happen to have gotten a 'lemon' don't expect either the dealer or Hyundai to honor the warranty. I liked the car but mine has had constant recurring computer problems that have put my life in danger multiple times. They only say 'if we can't duplicate the problem we can't fix it' which leaves me in a real world of hurt. Hyundai won't issue parts unless it can be (computer module) absolutely proven without a doubt that it's bad. I was service manager for years working with computer driven equipment and the only way to determine with certainty that it's bad is to replace it and find out. I called Hyundai's customer satisfaction line, got a case number and never heard back even after 4 calls to try and talk to someone. It seems that they have no interest in customer satisfaction. I'm now done with trying to communicate with Hyundai the car is so unsafe to drive that I spent $9000 to get out of it and got what I know is a good car - a Subaru Forester. Should have bought that to start with but the Tucson was much prettier.
