Good value, no fun

Purchased with 6000 mi on it as a dealership demo. Spongy brakes from day one, underpowered V6 and poor gas mileage. 3 recalls so far. Starter cable came loose on a Saturday night and the vehicle would not start after work, small issue but very inconvenient. This car is a cheap no frills cross over that is not fun to drive, but certainly serves its purpose. I can load tons of stuff in the cargo area with the back seats folded flat. If practicality is what you are looking for the Tucson is a good purchase.

I had my heart set on a new 07 Honda CRV and liked the way it drove and looked but I simply could not justify paying $7000 more for the Honda with less accessories and warranty. While I feel that the Hyundai has a less sophisticated drive train than the Honda, in all other respects it meets or exceeds Honda quality. On the issue of MPG I have seen reviews where the owners were disappointed but I did a first check fill up and combined city/hgwy yielded 23.9 MPG which I feel is very acceptable for an SUV with a V6.

I bought my tucson in april of 2006. Its ok gas the avg I get is 22mpg city and highway. But since i have bought the vechile, it has fell apart. I take very good care of my vechile and the ashtray doesnt stay closed(2nd time i've had the problem, sunglass holder doesnt close(1st time problem). The fuel system is not right, it leaks gas out of the evap valve everytime i fill it, it has gone back to hyundai 6 times for the problem and everytime it is something different, they claim it is fixed. I go to fill it and it still does the same thing. Overall its an ok mini-suv but I am not sure with the problems hyundai has given me, if i will ever buy another one.

This car is just soooooo reliable! After fourteen years, the only thing I've had to replace is a door handle! And that was after close to a decade and a half of opening and closing! I regularly look at car yards, but every time I think about replacing it, I just can't think of a good reason why! This car was way ahead of its time in many ways, particularly in safety. It's safety features are still current today. It's certainly no rocket ship - mine is a two litre 4wd and frankly, it couldn't pull a sailor off your sister, but if you're not interested in the quickest 0 - 60 time in your neighbourhood, then this car has few faults.
