Used 2006 Hyundai Tucson Consumer Reviews
Best value for the money
I had previous cars and this one beats them all. I mainly purchased this vehicle for safety reasons (air bags) and the warranty coverage. To top it off Hyundai recalls are almost nil and none for Tucsons. I used to believe in American cars but my last one had five recalls in two years and they were all safety related (Ford)! And one prior also had multiple recalls (Pontiac). I just got tired of going back to the dealer and waste my time on things that were supposed to be done right the first time. Japanese recalls are on the rise. Hyundai quality has really improved and since money is tight these days, I can't afford to spend it frivilously. It is the best bang for the buck.
Love My '06 GL!!
Okay, I know it's not the top of the line model with the bells & whistles - but this SUV is wonderful! Its interior is roomy, ride smooth, noise is minimum, the safety features are unmatched. My insurance even went down!! IMO you get a lotta car for a lost less than Honda and Toyota - who, by the way - tried to rip me off time & time again. Hyundai cares about their customers & it's shown from the 100K mile warranty to all of the additional perks we received after purchase. I've been warned about buying a Hyundai - have heard all of the jokes about how unreliable it is. Well, with the warranty, Lemon Law protection & perks - you can laugh away...but my husband a came out the winners!!

Strong, reliable and durable
Bought it at the end of the '06 model year and loved it from day one. It's now the end of '10 and it hasn't hiccuped once. Still performs like the first day. Very powerful and quick V-6. The mileage reflects the extra horses, but the performance is stellar. The only issue with the '06 is the ESC computer and braking when it's in the manual shift position. It will go into ABS mode even when panic braking on perfectly dry ground and will scare the carp out of you. In standard drive mode it works perfect. All in all it's great, though and my next one will be another Hyundai.
Love it, love it, love it!
I've only had this SUV a few months but I find that it is the perfect fit for me. I wanted something with more cargo room than my previous car but didn't want to be driving a ship. The Tucson fits the bill. It has a ton of cargo room when needed as all of the seats except for the driver's fold completely flat. This is done easily, too. It handles well and has a very tight turning radius. The sound system is excellent and the back seat is comfortable.
better mpg
i have owned my gls for a little over 2 monthes now and so far it has been good except for the gas mileage. it is rated between 19-24 mpg and have yet to reach even 19 mpg despite moderate driving. even on the highway only 18 mpg which bothers the heck out of me. other than the mpg is been a fun car to drive.
