Used 2018 Hyundai Kona Consumer Reviews
Love My Kona
I'm having so much fine driving it that I even look forward to the drive to work! Gas mileage is much better than I anticipated, but I do have a light foot after driving a Prius for 8 years. Visibility is great. Love the screen and electronics. My husband has a big SUV, so I didn't need too much cargo space. It works well for me. I love my surf blue Kona. Stands out in a sea of black, grey and white SUVs!

Kicked Mazda butt
The turbo has great acceleration yet gets better than rated gas mileage if not pushed hard. Holds the road , fun to drive. Well equipped for much lower price then it’s competitors. Best warranty.

Kona is King Kong of SUV's
Been driving this car for 5 months. Limited with AWD. Got to drive it in 5 inches of snow...Beautiful! Love the.ride and seating position. Averaging 30.5 mpg. Lots of zip from the turbo engine. All the controls are easy and straight forward. This vehicle is a genuine gem! ( J. Cox Hbg. Pa. )

My all-time favorite car
The 2018 Kona Limited FWD with the turbo and DCT transmission is my all-time favorite after 50 years of driving. The Kona offers 90% of the power and handling of our former VW Gti ( my second best) with better warranty and easier maintenance. Overall 30 mpg on regular. Zero to sixty at 6.6 seconds as per Car and Driver. I seldom use more than 60-70 % of the claimed horsepower because going over that will / could cost a loss of driving privileges. Some reviews mention a rough transmission - (DCT only.) I love the DCT and my wife can drive it like any other automatics we had in the last 35 years. With most others cars we owned before driving was a necessary chore. With the Kona, I'm looking for an excuse to take it out again, (same as the VW Gti). If you are a car nut, please get the turbo engine, not much more, and gets same gas mileage. Update: after 3 years zero problems, transm. is great, love the car, would buy another if stolen. The Kona is a keeper. Update: 4 years later it is still my favorite. Zero problems, 29-30 overall mpg on regular. We do lots of short trips in the 2-3 mile range so for most people the gas mileage might be better. We have a Point 65 modular kayak and it fits in the back with the rear seats folded. The service dept. at Chico Hyundai, CA, is excellent. Update after 5 years: zero problems, pure joy to drive. I might get the N version if I live long enough.

A year of great value
We got a 2018 Base AWD Kona last August with no optional equipment at a very attractive price. The car is quiet, very easy to drive especially in rain. It is extremely easy to see out of. About the only gripe I have is the base 147 horsepower engine is okay but not at all quick which is fine for my wife! I drive a VW GTI so am somewhat biased toward fast cars but the Kona is perfectly acceptable and fine on the highway. I especially love the great mileage - easily over 30 on regular. I was also surprised that Hyundai gives you Hankook Kinergy tires as standard equipment - a great tire! The car is now a year old - absolutely flawless performance over the year = Honda quality at a lower price. Definitely recommend the Kona to anyone wanting a very reliable small AWD car - love it!
