Aside from the excessive dealer markups, the cost for this car is pretty great for what you get, though there are some issues. Driving experience is pretty enjoyable. All the driver assist tech works quite nicely and I don’t find the alerts annoying as they can be in some newer vehicles like Subaru. The touch screen and speedometer screen are crystal clear and easy to use. Love the cooled seats, adjustable center cup holders, and ambient lighting. When the engine is warmed up, it feels surprisingly quick and fun to drive around the city. Averaging about 50mpg is a huge plus as well. Additionally, trunk space is decent for a compact car. Sport mode is useful now and then but it makes the transmission feel super jerky and you immediately lose mpg. Back seats are comfy, but lack any modern features, all you get is cup holders that are too small for most things. The cup holders on the doors are useless, way too small. Sound quality is a huge disappointment, some electronic and bass heavy music sounds alright, but any older recordings with guitar sound so bad that I don’t even enjoy listening to my favorite songs. It all sounds like setting your phone inside a plastic cup to amplify the sound, can’t believe this is what Bose has to offer. Maybe it’s just because there is so much plastic in this car. Overall I think this would be a great car for someone who primarily needs an efficient commuter vehicle. If you don’t care about sound quality and usually don’t have many passengers, it’s perfect. Audiophiles should stay away, I don’t how I missed that in the test drives.

Great MPG with hybrid

I have the Hybrid Blue. MPG was in mid 40 to 50 mpg range during the winter months (in Minnesota). But as soon as it got warm the milage is consistently hitting 60+mpg. The car is comfortable and fun to drive. Most disappointed with cruise control. Can not adjust speed one mph without excessive acceleration or deceleration. I've never had a cruise control this bad. Update after 1 year... I enjoy driving the car. Wouldn't shy away from taking long drives as it is comfortable. Found ways to deal with cruise control issues. Hyundai doesn't seem to be working on improvements. Update on 4/15/2025. Hyundai has issued a service recall for the cruise control. My Elantra has been upgraded and the cruise control issue has been resolved. Now I would say the worst thing about this vehicle is road noise at freeway speeds. But for the cost this can be considered normal. I remain very happy with this vehicle considering the price and the gas milage.

This car handles so well for a compact sedan. Luxurious interior . The hybrid driving is conservative when you're in 'Smart' mode, and kicks up dirt when you need it while in 'Sport' mode. The mileage for the Limited trim says 52 highway, but I've been able to get up to 63 mpg when using the battery just right. I'm a very happy driver so far! I'd say the only gripe I have so far is with the tablet display. It can lag from time to time when it gets warm outside. It'll keep the backup camera on when I drive away, making me have to hit 'Radio' or 'Media' to navigate from that screen. Other than that I'm very pleased with it so far. It's technically sound and is a smooth ride.

Purchased 12/31/22 from local dealer. I expected to get the fuel economy advertised since I already owned a 2018 Hyundai Ioniq Blue getting 56-62 mpg regularly and just slightly less in Winter months. I was disappointed with the mpg of the 2023 Elantra Blue during the 1st 3-4 months while getting 36 to 42 mpg. however since that time I am now getting 52 to 58 mpg. I cannot explain this. I drive both cars the same throttle response. The Ioniq mpg figures do not vary much all year while the 2023 Elantra seems to have a problem in cold weather. It is June and the 2023 handles well, has great interior features, and the fuel economy is great.

I have had my car for a week, I purchased this same car in 2021 and no issues. I wanted a newer model. I like the way the car drives and all the safety features. I really like the upgrade to the dash and navigation system. I’m very pleased with my purchase
