Owned it now a little over seven weeks. Can't speak to overall reliability yet, but overall very satisfied. Great mileage including four hours highway, steep mountain terrain riding and city driving and my overall mpg was around 41 on one tank of gas! Terrific first impressions (love the heated seats on the Value model) with just a few caveats on the transmission/shifting. (It could be just me getting used to the car.) *I've owned the car for one year and have had a few issues with the heating system. Yesterday the check engine light was fixed by the dealer with a replacement thermostat part. The ride is kind of bumpy over rough roads, but then again it is a light car, not a fat luxury vehicle.

Goes Like Hell and Gets Great Gas Mileage!

This Elantra SPORT is amazing! Based on road test specs, it accelerates faster than my 1967 Plymouth Satellite, 383- 4 speed, my 1964 Chrysler 300K- 413 cubic inches. It has the same size motor as my 1971 Dodge (Mitsubishi) Colt...1.6 Liter, 98 cubic inches! It lights up the front tires at will! It handles like a go cart, AND, if driven halfway normally, it gets 27 mpg around town and over 37 mpg on the highway! Leather interior, heated seats, moon roof, 18 inch alloy wheels. All of this for under $20,000, purchased new in April of 2018! Only complaint? The 245/18 tires ride like rocks on the crappy roads in NYS! For 2021-2022, Hyundai has renamed the Sport at the Elantra N series. It's the exact same car. Buy the dual clutch automatic version. It's faster than the 6 speed manual and gets much better gas mileage!!!You can embarrass many Subaru WRX's at traffic lights. For those cars to deliver maximum acceleration they have to rev to 5500 rpm and let out the clutch. Not practical at a traffic light!

Best Compact Bang for your Buck

I just purchased a 2018 Elantra VE back in January and have been enjoying it ever since. The price you pay in my area is at least a couple thousand less than a comparable Civic (what most experts feel is the best car in this segment). That plus a great warranty makes this the best value of your Buck in my opinion.
