Used 2020 Hyundai Accent Consumer Reviews
I love the hatchback.
Selected state NJ but incorrect, I live in Canada. My type above says sedan, because that's all the drop-down menu allows for this review. But I have the hatch. Hatchback is like a very slightly smaller version of the Elantra GT. Too bad my American friends can't buy it. Took mine on a long and miserable wintry drive two weeks ago. Fuel economy rivalled my Jetta TDI, which means awesome Power: no problem passing uphill, just remember to downshift to 4th (not 5th) when you really need it. Traction with snow-tires: terrific. Super quiet, until sand/gravel encountered, then it sounded like no wheel-well linings at all. Must investigate. Downside: lousy lumbar support !

Really love this car - Deal for $ - Hyundai Bad CS
We love this car. Got end of model year deal on a 2018. For $16,300, after rebates we got the limited, heated seats, sunroof, android auto, emer auto braking, leather steering wheel. Great trim and finish for the price. Runs and looks great Great gas mileage! Only wishes are blind spot and smaller rims. The car has great looking rims, but like all upper trim cars today, the rims are stupid large, leaving very low profile tires, which give a stiffer ride and are more prone to sidewall pinches on pot holes (we have already had one tire ruined on a pothole). Still happy a year+ later, no issues. 2 years in, had first repair (other than maintenance), blower motor module, covered under warranty (would have been $180 otherwise). 4 years in, blower was not the issue. Had big issue with evaporator freezing and having no heat/defrost in winter! Dealer did not want to fix. Called Hyundai Customer Service for assistance. Terrible would not call us back! Finally, dealer got a new service manager who really wanted to help us. He got it fixed, big job! Then dealer fired the service manager (I think he was too nice). So, car is good, dealer and Hyundai customer service are the worst!

next gen accent
i shopped for an elantra, but the accent limited had a catchy new style and lots of equipment, i also have an elantra se that is well equipped but not all that the accent limited did offer. i think the sport mode is nice on the highway when on manual shift due to stop and go heavy traffic. the electric shift 6 speed is actually in a manual mode so watch to upshift manually. the limited came with high quality low profile tires and large rims makes a nice stance and good handling. if you don't have extra funds to purchase wheel locks, see if you can finance in as a dealer add on. you can feel comfortable inside it is larger than the previous accent models i test drove. if you like gadgets this is the car for you

Spark plug failure at 140 miles
My son needed a car to replace his 1999 Ford Escort, so I decided to sell him my 2013 Toyota Corolla and buy a 2018 Hyundai Accent. I figured my son would have a reliable five year old car, and I'd have a reliable new car. I was half right; my son now has a reliable car. The Accent seemed like a good car in my test drives. It has a six speed manual transmission and 1.6 liter engine. It was easy to get used to the clutch, it shifted smoothly, and had sufficient power, and the average MPG indicated 47 for the combination of highway and city driving that I have on my commute. The ride is fairly firm. It's quieter at highway speed than the Corolla. However, at about 140 miles, the car started running rough and the Check Engine light came on. It felt like the car was running on two cylinders. I pushed in the clutch and revved the engine, and the problem seemed to clear up. But as I continued driving, there were occasional surges. Then, on an uphill, the car felt like it was missing. We managed to get home, and had the car towed to the dealer. They replaced the spark plugs. I'm not sure what kind of spark plugs last only 140 miles, but I hope the replacements are of higher quality. We'll see what happens with the new plugs. I didn't used to carry a cell phone, but now I've got one so that I can call my wife and a tow truck next time the car breaks down. I'm not too happy that I got rid of a reliable car and replaced it with an unreliable, unsafe car; but I'm stuck with this until I can save enough money to replace it. Update: At 3600 miles, the car has not had further problems since the spark plugs were replaced. I'm getting 43-44 MPG in my normal driving (16 miles each way to work, about 8 miles highway, and 8 miles with some stop lights). I'm hoping that the long-term reliability will be good, but we'll see. Update: At 16000 miles, still working well, and still getting 43-44 MPG. Update: At 21000 miles, still no problems. Haven't added many miles recently, as I'm now working from home 3 days a week.
