No heat
I have the same problem with my brand new Ridgeline , no heat at idle . Dealer can't fix it , it must be to complicated for Honda to figure out . I use to think Honda was reliable ?

Overall quality issues
I purchased a 2018 Ridgeline RTL-E late 2017.At first I was very satisfied. While under warranty there was a noise coming from the engine area. It was the high pressure fuel pump. I was told unless it gets much worse it was not covered under warranty. At 75,000 miles the fuel pump noise got so bad that they said it needed replacing and did not cover it under warranty. In the Honda forums it is stated this is a common problem and it is 50/50 getting Honda to pay for the replacement. I paid out of pocket. I listen to a lot of books on MP3. I had a player installed a few months after the initial purchase of the truck. After 2 years the player stopped working. The dealer wants almost $ 1,000.00 to replace it. That's several hundred more than the original installation. I feel that the player was out of warranty and was shocked by the price. I put this in this post about quality issues. Around 80,000 miles the fuel injectors needed replacement. That the warranty did pay for for teh replacements but after reading several Honda forums I found out that this is a very common problem. Next is the wiring harness for the tail gate. When you use the tailgate there is a inherent wiring path problem. The tailgate the wire insulation and cables have broken. Now camera does not work. As far as I am concerned this is a safety problem. Again the forums say this is a very common problem and not covered by Honda Warranty. The dealer wants again close to $ 1,000.00 to replace the harness. Lastly I have electrical gremlins. The truck goes into emergency braking at times. The dealer adjusted the sensor and said if it gets annoying shut down the safety systems (is that a solution). Twice the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. Every light was lit. I took it to the dealer and they found no problems. I was under the impression that these trucks were very reliable. Apparently I was misled. I cannot recommend a Ridgeline, in fact is I wasn't retired and living on a fixed income I would replace it. I don't know what I will do when the truck hits 100,000 miles and needs a timing belt.

All my niggles
I give it three stars for spacious interior, comfort and x factor. However, I do have a few niggles that are quite annoying: the tailgate is hard to open especially if you have wet hands or arthritis. The hood flexes quite a bit in the wind at highway speeds so much so that we are often afraid it will fly up into the windshield. Would prefer more ground clearance for weekend drives to the cabin. Body panels are flimsy and paint scratches easily so if leasing get the extra insurance.
The one that got away!
Toyota has so many incentives; making the Honda truck $10,000.00 more for the same features except the ride of an SUV. Honda said they gave military discounts and senior discounts on anything but the truck. They told us they had so few that they could not afford to take anything off. Therefore, we went across the street and bought the Tacoma. While we were purchasing the Toyota, one of their salespeople called me offering me the asking price for my vehicle. Sorry, too late!!

Doughnut tire
Why would you want to own a “truck” like the Hond a Ridgeline with a doughnut tire offered as a spare tire? Envision your self in some of the Western states 100 miles from a major city with 80mph interstates with a 45mph spare supposedly only good for 50 miles. I had full intention of buying a Ridgeline until I learned this fact. I ended up with a Toyota Tacoma limited!

Beauty but no beast
This would be a perfect truck but for the performance. Acceleration was underwhelming, and an additional 25-40 horsepower, a seven or eight speed transmission, and the ability to shift manually (paddles) would be desirable.
