Frugal on gas, exceptional on versatility.
I got the 2015 Fit LX for its efficiency and cargo handling versatility. So far, I've been very happy with its performance in both aspects. There is a lot of headroom in the front. I am 6' standing but sit as tall as the average 6'3" man. There is sufficient legroom in front and rear for adults. The steering wheel could extend a bit more, but it's acceptable. Outward visibility is very good, which is a rarity these days. Acceleration is good for its class, though the engine doesn't sound happy when pushed. It handles nimbly, though not as well as my '99 Protege or my wife's Mazda P5. The stereo speakers are OK for talk radio but are too flat and muddy for pretty much any music.
The Fit fits!
We have had our Fit for about a month now, and have put almost 3000 miles on it. Have averaged 38 MPG in a 50-50 mix of city and highway miles. Our CVT Fit gets about 45 MPG at a steady 60 mph, 43 at a steady 65 mph and just over 40 MPG at a steady 70 mph Have hauled lots of things in it, has carried my wife and I in the front with three of our adult children in the back, and have just returned from a 700 miles trip this weekend from Cleveland to Chicago and back. We find that in spite of the black interior, the seats don't get too hot to sit, although we wish there was a bit more padding after three hours of straight driving and sitting. Back and right side cameras work great.

After 89K New Starter and CVT Transmission
11/18/2024 Update: Unfortunately, my beloved FIT became costly after 89K miles: At 89,900 miles: New Starter: $634.50 P & L At 92,700 miles: The CVT Tranny just stopped working even after doing all the Tranny fluid changes recommended by the dealer each 30K miles. CVT is sealed, not serviceable and had to be replaced at a cost of $6112.86. Dealer says its not unusual for Honda CVT to not last much past 90K. Earlier reviews: This is my second FIT (1st was 2009) and I would buy a 3rd one in a heartbeat if they still made them. Its the absolute best car, easy and fun to drive and so practical. I zip in and out and around traffic in Los Angeles everyday--it makes driving fun in a crowded city--you don't want anything bigger driving and parking here. If you just drive city stop and go it will get about 26 to 32 MPG. If you just drive highways you will get 40 to 42 MPG. Discontinuing the FIT was one of Honda’s biggest mistakes. I did have an issue with the Engine Splash Shield--the plastic cover that sits under the oil filter area that they take off for maintenance. It's a poor design and it has fallen down twice in the past 4 years in parking lots if you rub the concrete space divider and I had to call AAA to fix it. It's just a poor clamp design. Some people just leave it off. I realized by switching dealers that it was the dealer incorrectly installing it after oil changes that caused the problems. At 70K the 2015 and 2016 models including mine needed extensive engine work for the ATC. It was 1400 and billed to the extended warranty. Honda has a Bulletin on the this but will not pay for the repair unless you bought HondaCare. I have also had the starter switch replaced under Honda’s extended warranty to 9 years/120K miles that that. But the 2nd Starter Switch is now failing and will need replacement. Just one important caveat: The OEM Firestone FR 740 tires that Honda put on the FITS are one of the worst tire fitments I have ever seen--it's an awful tire. You can ride the Firestones like I did until 25K miles, but you will truly enjoy the car so much more with dramatically improved handling and control by changing them out for the BF Goodrich 205/50 R16 G-Force Comp 2 A/S tire ($85 each). I also tried the Michelin Pilot Sports in the same size-- fits easily on the FIT rims with no modifications and plenty of clearance--it's an alternative wider size tire for FIT. You will also get improved fuel mileage. The Pilot is an incredible tire and I wish they still made in my size. Just get the FIT—it’s the best! Unless you need a Pick-up for work, this is the only car to buy. Keep in mind though that the quality of the Honda of the 1980’s and 90’s does not exist today. Honda used to manufacture exclusively in Japan in those days. Now they make the FIT and HRV and other vehicles in Mexico, Engines in Indonesia, and other nefarious places and quality is mediocre. My FIT has had many issues, but the dealer has fixed many of them. At 90K I question whether I question whether I will get another Honda—losing confidence in Honda.

Best car I've owned and I'm 63
First the negatives. For long rides the seat is hard. I bought a car cushion from Costco for the bottom of the seat and now long drives are easy. Others on the Fit forum are having too many issues and many like me are not. Seems like Mexico needs to step up their QA and Honda should have not let it slip. The room in it is fantastic, handling makes taking turns fun, it shifts like a dream, the rear camera is a MUST for me, the side camera is so much better than the right side mirror only option because it is safer and gives such a bigger amount of view, gets great mileage even when driven somewhat hard, and I can't see myself ever getting another type of car since having all the advantages of the Fit. Update 6-27-17. No problems at all. I use the car a lot for kayaking and now doing a lot of transporting of the needed tools I need to carry. Added a nice roofrack for kayaks and at times, ladders. Still enjoy driving it and my wife and others said I should buy a small truck since my needs changed. I tell them NO way am I getting rid of my Fit. It still does what I need and I'm very happy with it. When something works, don't fix it. Stay with the winner, the Fit! Love the mileage, the handling, the looks, the safety features (like the rear and side cameras) and how the seats make it possible to fit so many different things. It may be my last car.

Enjoying New Fit
Among the best cars in its class and 2015 redesign keeps it in that position.
