We have this for about a week already and we're getting lots of stares and questions. Pretty hard to stay low profile in this car. Great design, great interior concept. It feels really solid and tight. Very good road feel and turing radius. Drives great! Don't know why people are complaining about 20mpg. Don't they ever read the brochure before they buy? It's advertised at 21mpg!!! Too bad I noticed some excessive/poor glue/weld spots in some areas (where's the QC?) Oh wait, it's built in the USA instead! Get it back to Japan and I'll gladly pay the extra bucks.

I've had a blast with the Element. The versatility has been excellent. I've never owned a vehicle that so many people have wanted to see the inside. Runs down the highway at 80mph without a problem. Handles great!

This rig is very utilitarian. Rides pretty rough and is pretty spartan on comfort. There are not many little features or even big features. That said it will be used to bike and camp, and for that it should work. Needs more driver leg room. The aux jacks should work when the key is off. The plastic scratches way to easy and the seats are a pain to remove.

I require a car to be more than a mode of transportation; it must be functional. As an over 55 male that purchased a new 1989 Dodge Grand Caravan and drove it 250000 miles until the mechanical problems overwhelmed it I appreciate versatility in carrying both people and objects. The Element has this flexibility: I can transport my non-driving relatives; I can carry furniture; I can carry paving stones; I can carry recyclables; I can carry building materials. The style of the car has intrigued many people: I have met numerous people while refueling; they ask if it's one of those "hybrids" and then ask to look closer. Comments have been very positive.
