My brand new 6 month old 2018 Honda CR-V has been recalled for “ emission updates” but what’s wrong is gasoline is leaching into the oil tank and gives off bad gasoline smell in cabin!!! Fix didn’t work so back I go! Am not happy! Hate the Apple play navigation system because I can even hear it!!!

Bought it new Nov 2018. Now have 18.5k miles. 99% of miles is city, stop & go. Averages 27mpg. Freeway got 38-39 mpg regular gas. Been a great car so far. No problems. Has the 1.5 Turbo but no oil dilution yet. I still check the motor oil once a week & change oil every 3k. Love the safety suite especially backing out in parking lots with 2 big pick ups on either side. Very comfortable seats. Loads of standard extras. Good cargo. Can actually put 8 foot 2x4's in at an angle & close the hatch. EZ to park & manuver. Comfortable, good economy, spacious, spunky performance, reasonable price. Only complaint is the brake hold system at a stop lite. Wish it would disengage when u accelerate from a lite rather than having to push the button to release brake. Wish this model also came with a CD player. Great car & best value in its class. Best car I have ever owned except my '61 Corvette fuelie which was a love affair & not very practical. This Honda is VERY practical. If u shop for a used Honda crv 2017-2020 with the 1.5 turbo then insist on seeing its service history looking for issues with oil dilution on that motor. Most are ok but people sell for reasons. City driving is hardest on any car but my Honda has done well so far so I have to give it a thumbs up. I traded my 2014 RAV4 for it which I also bought new w/only 8k miles. I like the Honda much better. My only other complaint is when it is 90 outside & u first start the car & turn on the a/c it blows hot air for a minute or two so then works good. I just remembered another complaint. When backing out the sensor doesn't always react to small kids or pedestrians crossing in your rear but good with traffic. Still a very good car. Oh year 1 other thing my battery went kaput after 2.5 yrs but Honda replaced it for free, no hassle. Maybe the fault of my short trips. Now has 26k miles on it. A/C works now, has a slow leak & costs $600+ to recharge it. Had the I have 27k miles since I bought it new in 2018. Mostly short trips & change oil every 3k to minimize oil dilution effects. A/C still works but has a refrigerant leak my trusted mechanic can't find so I get it recharged every 6 years. CV (Trans?) still works good. Had its fluid changed recently. Love the "safety suite"..saved me from bending the car & others too. U mustn't ignore or procrastinate on scheduled maintenance on these newer cars cuz they're very pricey to repair. Insist on seeing maintenance history & check its VIN to verify. 2017-2018 Honda CRV has some potential & expensive problems so buyer beware although I still like mine & so far has been very reliable. cvt oil changed. Other than that been a reliable car with no major costly issues. So far so good.

Mostly ACE - but when driving at pretty high speeds got a rattling noise coming from front dashboard on right side. Still investigating - but it was disturbing...

Under powered engine

When accelerating the engine whines and sounds loud and over taxed. Acceleration is ok but the loud sound indicates the engine is under powered and laboring. Other than that a great vehicle.

Had previous CRV LX, which I loved. Decided to purchase new CRV Touring for the additional safety features and auto open back hatch. This vehicle is luxurious and practical. Love the AWD, since I live in the mountains. The more I drive the Touring, the more I like it's performance. It is very stable on the road, quiet, and smooth. I am extremely happy with my decision to buy this car!!!
