2018 Honda CRV issues

I bought the 2018 Honda CRV Touring Model new. I had a 2012 Honda CRV before this model and had no issues with it. Overall I like the car but have had numerous issues with the display going black while driving down the road, or it displays brightness over and over and goes black. While driving I have had messages such as "Anti Theft System This system has lost power. Push and hold the power button for more than two seconds to enable the system". If it's raining and I'm on the interstate I get the message "Some driver assist systems cannot operate. Radar Obstructed." Those are just a few examples of messages I get while driving the car. If you are depending on the display while you drive for maps and the screen goes black it's a bit scary. The dealer can only fix the issues if they are happening when you drive into the dealership for repairs while the issue is going on. These issues will eventually cause me to get rid of the Honda CRV and get something different. Update: My car is now 5 years old. At 60,000 miles my check engine light came on. The car repair place replaced the spark plugs. That didn't fix the problem. They diagnosed the problem as Air Fuel Ratio Imbalance. They replaced the manifold gasket and the fuel injectors. Very expensive repair but it seems to have fixed the issue. I have spoken to other Honda CRV owners and they haven't had these issues. I have over 70,000 miles on it. I'm still thinking I will not buy another Honda although my car is running fine now. Yesterday I was driving on the interstate and my car started beeping and I got a message Road Departure Mitigation System Problem. Several lights were lit up like Brake System, pictures of the car not in the lanes, and another picture I can't identify. I pulled over and turned the car off and back on and the warning went away. I was using cruise control when I got the messages so I didn't use it the rest of the trip. I don't have Road Departure feature turned on and have never had it turned on. Aug 2024 my 2018 Honda CRV has about 90,000 miles on it. I just got on the interstate when it started shaking, slowing down and cycling through every message available. I pulled to service road and turn car off and back on a couple of times. That didn't work. I road the service lane at a very slow pace because the car had no pickup and had it towed to a Honda dealership. Turns out it was the Ignition coil assembly for about $300. I lucked out because this Honda dealership replaced the safety recall of the fuel pump. Other Honda dealers said they wouldn't do it unless I brought it in, paid the $150 for them to diagnose and only if the correct code came up would they replace it. Bottom line I still have the Honda CRV. I haven't decided if I am getting rid of it at this point or not.

A few of my Good not Great comments concerned the short wheelbase. Can't be helped. I wished the front USB ports were 2.4a rather than 1.5a and 1.0a too.

Was hesitant at first on the HondaCRV but once I drove it again and saw alll the outstanding features I was sold. The ride was superior. The safety features superior. The quality of the CRV is unmatched.

Poor quality so disappointed. Have owned Honda Accords all my life. Ladt one had 15 years and no problems. Now have a disability so got a Crv for winter. A 2017 and gear shift broke. Under warranty and garage said its a common problem. Now the doors are starting to lock on own snd not unlock at all. Only 15,000 miles. The seats are terribly uncomfortable and the seat material is cheap. Already getting dirty and I barely drive it. I need something dependable so am already looking at getting rid of this snd getting something else. Ive yold many of my coworkers not to buy one. Very disappointed in quality. Honda uouve lost my loyalty. I’ll never buy another. Now i read that gas gets in the oil. Another common problem. Will not buy another

Test drive it. Feels like much more expensive car. Has amazing safety features and enough acceleration for all legal driving. Just wish it still had CD player for old timers like me.
