Used 2018 Honda CR-V Consumer Reviews
Ehhh
Prepare to be unimpressed. It works - for the most part and is mostly utilitarian. The big drawback is the big draw - battery draw. This car suffers the same parasitic battery drain as the 2019 CRV without enough complaints to make Honda fix it. I need battery number 3 since buying it new Dec 2017. Honda refused to stand behind their battery (bad cell) Mar 2020, now the Walmart special is failing. It does suffer from little use, but but does get driven 15-18 times per month for about 15-30 minutes at a time...evidently not enough to overcome the issue.
Great vehicle
Was hesitant at first on the HondaCRV but once I drove it again and saw alll the outstanding features I was sold. The ride was superior. The safety features superior. The quality of the CRV is unmatched.

After 1 month
I went from VW tiguan 2013 SE to 2018 EXL CRV , That being said I am sure there where a lot of upgrades to the newer Tiguans . For me getting into this crv was definitely a step up . I keep in mind that it is not a sports car . There is less delay in the turbo than my last car .. If any at all , The steering is also felt a lot less.. I will call it tippy coming into a turn and coming out . Not much after sway. There much more I like about this car and still haven't really tried the cruse control yet. Time will tell . I hope this will be one of Honda's long lasting reliable cars .

Where's the Gas?
After purchasing this CRV I was totally disappointed in myself for not asking about the size of the gas tank. This 2018 CRV has a 12 gallon tank and I've only gotten a range of 300-310 miles from the first three tanks. So, I've yet to obtain the MPG claimed on the sticker 27 city/33 hwy, and with the work I do I can burn a tank of gas in 2 days! Very disappointing to be visiting a gas station every other day! Argh!

Disappointed with 5th Gen CRV!
I purchased my Touring CRV in May, 2018, to replace my 3rd gen EX-L that I've had since 2008. In the beginning, I was very impressed with all the bells and whistles and new tech, compared to my old 2008. The one thing I noticed right from the onset was the acceleration (or lack thereof). I remember very vividly when I took my new 2008 CRV out of the dealership lot being so impressed with the engine power back then. However, it was not the case with my new 2018. I know the dealer tried to convinced me that a 1.5 litre with turbo charged engine would be better than a standard 2.4 L but it was "a bit" of a stretch to say the least. In general, the engine is sluggish even with the turbo charged, which I can't even tell if it's kicking in or not. The upside to that is the fuel economy. It does save a ton! And I mean a ton (gas & $). The reviewers were correct in that the main control console is awkward at best. Trying to make a hands-free phone call is painfully difficult because you have to remember to use the right words to turn the thing on, etc. Also, you cannot get more apps, even when the owner's manual says you can--unless you hack into the system--which is doable but is not permanent; if you turn off your car and then back on, the new apps that you downloaded and installed are just gone! No one seems to have the solution for this issue thus far. The one issue that I was most disappointed with this particular vehicle was the anti-lock brakes. I was recently involved in a crash last week when there was a little bit of snow on the ground. As I was coming to a stop sign, I tried to apply the brakes but they locked and the car skidded down and was hit by an oncoming car on the driver's side. Although the hit was not that strong it did damage the steering system (and of course the driver's side door, fender, etc.). The one thing I can tell for sure from that accident is that the ABS completely, totally failed! And I know about those things because my old CRV always (ALWAYS!) stopped during snowy conditions--even worse than last week's. In addition, the brand new Hankook tires that Honda puts on the new CRVs are just crap, plain and simple! I could almost swear that the quality of those tires is much inferior to aftermarket ones... I might as well be driving with completely bald, skinny tires and they'd do a better job stopping the car. All in all, I am extremely disappointed with this generation CR-V. I've noticed that other brand vehicles in the same category are priced a bit higher and that may be a reason for it. I feel that in an attempt to save a few bucks here and there, Honda has skimped out on a few very important features in the new CR-Vs (engine, brakes, etc.). I've heard that both Hyundai and KIA are making pretty good products these days. That alone makes me want to consider them for my next vehicle. Bottom line, if you live in a snow-prone area, you may seriously want to consider a brand name other than Honda for your next vehicle (sadly)...
