After lots of research of trying to find a safe, reliable and gas saver my husband and i decided on the Honda 2018 CR-V. LOVED the size, loved the ride, loved how it handled and LOVED the mpg!! I however did not like the touch screen, too picky at times and other times you almost have to to take a hammer to it. What has finally ruined my new car is the constant smell of gasoline in the cab of the car. Every time after i fill up my Honda, the cab of my CR-V reeks of gasoline for 4-5 days after! I have 3 children, and one of them cannot ride in the car because of headaches from the smell of gasoline. My other 2 have been getting bloody noses, and i myself have been getting headaches and nausea. We have taken the Honda into the service department and the only thing they were concerned about was if the check engine light ever came on. After research we found the Honda CR-V 2018 has been known to have oil dilution problems. We also pulled the dip stick on my Honda and the smell of gasoline was very strong and after the service department had my Honda for 2 days, they said there was nothing wrong with the Honda. We also have had problems with the cruise control and driving assist (would not read the distance from the car in front of us and it was set at the most sensitive setting) I am very bummed, i really liked my Honda but now having these problems and Honda is not really wanting to help i now don't trust Honda. I can't get a hold of anyone at the Honda Corp. and our dealership just shrugs their shoulders and says sorry. I am at my wits end. I SOLD THE HONDA CRV WAS TIRED OF DEALING WITH THE GASOLINE SMELL CONSTANTLY INSIDE THE CAR AND HONDA NOT HAVING A CARE IN THE WORLD.

Something has changed at Honda, and not for the better. I used to be a Honda fan bit not any more. This new generation CR-V has some REAL issues Oil dilution is a real problem and to date they have no solution to offer other than to deny the problem even exists. Supposedly mine was "adjusted" at the factory but the problem is still there. Don't think for a minute that this is an isolated problem. This is a problem across their entire line up. For sure 1.5 L engine has a problem and there is strong evidence that the 2.0 L engine has the problem too. I would strongly suggest that you avoid all Honda and Acura products with these engines, unless of course you enjoy frustration and sitting around your local dealership waiting to get your car back. I am truly disappointed in this Honda product and I am shocked at the way Honda has treated me (and others) that apparently now stuck holding the bag on these poorly engineered products. I can hardly wait for the class act suit. Can anyone say VW Dieselgate? Yes it is that bad :(

Enjoying New CRV

For a top of the line model it is missing some basics: under hood light, passenger seat lumbar, engine is noisy, radio doesn't stay on when engine is shut off, no CD player. Driver assist features are excellent. We really like it.

I did a lot of research before test driving the Toyota Rav 4 and the Honda CR-V Touring. I preferred the Honda for the way it handled, gas mileage, and it’s looks. I love my new Honda CR-V Touring!

Nice Driving CRV

Have owned our new CRV for about a month and so far we are still in the honeymoon phase = still madly in love. Very comfortable front seats, great safety technology, smooth handling and great breaking. Wife tried the adaptive cruise control last weekend and it worked fantastically, even when the truck in front did an emergency braking. Our CRV stayed a very reliable distance regardless of his speed and when he braked hard to avoid an accident, the CRV immediately recognized it and braked us to a smooth but quick stop. Very impressed. We have set up 3 collapsible storage boxes in the rear and they fit snugly yet provide great storage and separation for groceries.
