Our 2022 CR-V Hybrid EX-L replaced a 2007 Pilot EX-L, and I couldn't be happier. The car feels really solid, Honda quality is apparent and does not disappoint. The hybrid power is surprisingly fun to drive (very torquey), and yes, Sport mode does make a difference (you can actually feel the difference in throttle responsiveness across the three settings - Econ, regular mode, and Sport). And yes, Sport mode or leadfoot driving in general impacts gas mileage, because of course it does! The EV mode isn't really practical, but I do use it sometimes in local village traffic when there's enough braking to keep it charged up. I wouldn't recommend this car to somebody who really wants an EV, though. But I did discover that you can drive it in Sport mode, with a regen paddle setting to 2 or 3, and it charges up quicker than normal (since you don't have to keep paddling the regen every time you press the throttle then brake again), so you can actually drive it in 'Sport EV' mode. I did a lot of research before buying but nobody pointed out this little quirk (in a good way) of the system. You will see a drop in average gas mileage during the winter if like me you're in the Northeast where they have winter blend gas, but that's across the board anyway, not specific to hybrids or what-not. Glad we grabbed this vehicle when we could. Feels really solid, and it's fun to drive, even for a 'non-luxury SUV'. I can fit my full drum kit etc in there (it's only slightly smaller, with seats down, than the Pilot was). My wife gets car sick easily and this car doesn't do it to her. Good gas mileage even if not hitting the EPA-touted averages. And the darker blue color? [chef's kiss] :)

My third Honda, second CRV. Love the car itself but gas mileage not as expected. Electronics are extremely difficult to learn. Manual sucks, especially index. Can't find how to do numerous things. Very scary driving when you don't know how to control it.
