Reliability concern

Broken brake booster on brand new 2022 civic ex. With 13 miles on the car, the brake pedal would click and clunk when being pressed. The car look and feel good, but I’m starting to understand the lackluster reliability ratings Honda has had over the years.

Great car, but...

Smooth ride, but I wish it did not have the "considerable road noise" issue. Very annoying on older streets and roads.

After buying the 2022 Honda Civic EX, I was pleasantly impressed with how much torque and horsepower the L1B7 1.5T had for such a small displacement engine. Coming from a 2017 Elantra with the 2.0 Atkinson engine, I believe the Honda engine is increasingly more responsive in city and highway driving. With the turbo engine, I can sit the engine in its 1,700-4,500 rpm torque range and fly off without the engine screaming or overworking like in the Elantra. I absolutely love the exterior styling which mimics the 10th generation accord. I also noticed that the front A pillars mimic the similar slope and curve of the 2001-2005 civic. My ear has taken a liking to how the 1.5T sounds when approaching 3,000 rpm. However, revving the Honda engine past 5,000 rpm doesn’t really add any more power, and sounds like the engine will tear itself apart if you floor it to redline. Since its a turbo engine, changing the oil which also cools the turbo will be of utmost importance to ensure longevity of the engine and the TD03 Mitsubishi turbo. When my friends are in the car, the engine has plenty of acceleration where as in the Elantra and my old 2001 Civic EX, the engine would scream but I didn’t feel any acceleration just an overworked engine. The moonroof is also an excellent feature that I had in my 2001 Civic. I’m blessed to have heated front seats and fell in love with the remote start feature so in the winter time, I just have to start the engine from inside the house and let the car defrost the windows and heat up the car. Sadly, the remote start only keeps the engine on for 10 minute increments. You have to restart the engine for another 10 minutes after it shuts off from the initial 10 minute remote start. I love the Agean blue color. Another feature I really liked were the LED front headlights. I don’t see well to begin with and especially at night it’s helpful to have bright LED’s to assist you in driving at night if you must. Some aspects I wish were different include not having Sirius XM Satellite radio as an option on the EX trim. I had XM radio standard on my 2017 Elantra SE with the popular equipment package. However, I don’t listen to XM radio anymore. I hardly ever use the radio unless I have my IPhone plugged into the CarPlay. Annoyingly, the car has a smaller gas tank than my 2017 Elantra. The Civic EX has a 12.4 gallon tank, while the 2017 Elantra had a 14 gallon tank. They both get similar gas mileage, although. I frequently have to fill up the 2022 Civic more often than my 2017 Elantra. I can go almost 2 weeks with my 2022 Civic, while my old 2017 Elantra I could go almost 3 weeks. But, it’s not much of a difference. I don’t drive long distances often, and mostly drive in the suburbs. Another structural feature I wasn’t happy to find out about the 2022 Civic was that Honda decided to use a rigid plastic engine mount for the rear engine mount which I hope will not be prone to cracking or failing suddenly. I also researched online and found out that one of the suspension brackets in the rear of the Civic is made partly with aluminum instead of all stamped steel. Maybe, the car engineers have been able to use higher strength aluminum for weight saving design and better mpgs. I just know that aluminum is not as malleable as steel and can be prone to fracture failures. Hopefully. The aluminum they used is as strong as the steel they used in the rest of the car. Overall, I love my 2022 Honda Civic EX, and I’m extremely satisfied with my decision to purchase this exquisite piece of machinery.

Quality is worse then ever, power is horrible. The body lines between panels is 3/16 to over 1/4" on the doors, looks horrible. Ride quality is good, interior is less then average from what I have seen by other manufacturers.
