Used 2004 Honda Accord EX V-6 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Astounding reliability.
Those of you reading this are probably looking at or considering a 2004 Accord. Mine was bought new (EX V6 with Navi) in March of 2004. I commute 120 miles each day, 5 days a week. I now have 105,000 miles on the car. This is easily the best and most reliable car I've owned (out of about 23 in the last 20 years). I consistently get 27-30 mpg with the V6. I change the oil regularly myself with Mobil 1 oil. If you can believe it, I have not has so much as a light bulb burn out in 105,000 miles. Zero problems. I had the timing belt and water pump replaced by Honda as I approached the 100k mile mark. Other than that and oil and air filter - nothing. I just love this car.
Watch out for the seat comfort!
The seats have changed. The've added additonal padding in the lower part of the seat before you even engage the lumbar support if you desire to use it so you loose the option of sitting back in a flat seat. Most people's backs are flat and this seat doesn't start out that way. It forces your lower back into an unnatural forward position without using the lumbar support so after a period of time you begin to feel uncomfortable. Because of this design you can't sit back in the seat comfortably, so while your driving you are constaintly moving the seat to try and get comfortable. You can't feel this on a 10 minute test drive. Hopefully there is a fix for it.
Great Car!
WoW, This car is awesome. Best bang for the buck ever. Luxury car at a decent price.
Comfortable Commuter Car
I bought this car used at 20K miles. I didn't bother getting the extended warranty and 25K miles later I have not needed it. his car provides a great balance between comfort, performance and economy. Only maint necessary before 101K miles is oil chg, tire rotation & brake pad replacement as needed. Dealership maint is affordable and has been a pleasant experience. I love the 7,500 mile interval between oil changes (only on the V6 though). The engine is smooth on acceleration and provides great hwy passing power. Avgs 22-24 mpg in mixed hwy & city driving. Overall, this is a great common sense car and is comparable to most entry level luxury cars.
Honda Forever
Went from being a Honda owner, to being a new Chrysler (nightmare) owner, back to Honda. My Honda (aside from maintenance) has never had problem 1. My daily trip to and from the office is something I always look forward to. It's comfortable, roomy for its size, handles wonderfully and even has considerable kick under the hood. I know that the guy in the Mustang GT who took off from a standing start must have been pretty bummed to see a Honda directly behind him in his rearview mirror. No lie. It lives up to all 240 horses. Go Honda, you will not be disappointed.
