Great little truck
I have over 240,000 KMS on my truck, four wheel drive , five cylinder engine. Fuel mileage can't complain at 28 MPG (imperial) on three extended trips of over 6000 miles. The 3.7 ltr , five cylinder engine has performed well even pulling a loaded trailer of over 6000 pounds .For a mid sized truck I will compare it to any brand out there . Have a friend with the same truck but he has the V 6 and does not get the mileage that I get and says that the V6 does not perform well pulling his travel trailer that weighs in at 4700 ponds. One tough little truck.Just waiting to get the next one with the diesel.
Tough Truck
I have used this basically for business use the past 2 years. Towing a trailer and snowplowing with a BOSS plow. 4 wheeling is great because of the locking rear dif. It is quiet on the highway. I upgraded the wheels to 18" purchased from GM Parts.

My little Canyon is a keeper
It is not designed as a chick magnet or a robust work truck, but I've had my GMC Canyon SLE straight cab 2WD 6' bed since new 13 years ago. Now has 140k miles and 12 Wisconsin winters on it. Truck has rare sport package that has a slammed, wide suspension, low, fat rubber, buckets, console, & 5 speed manual. !85 HP engine is a bit of a pooch, but the truck corners like a train on tracks. No one gains on me in corners. I have given up replacing heater fan switches after four, but other than that. this truck did not disappoint.
Junk
Frames rot out from front to back. I have one with 130,000 miles and took for inspection and rear frame is completely gone rear shakels gone. And I mean gone , cross members GONE.

2007 GMC Canyon
Although its been reliable, this is the most uselessly designed truck I've ever had. The bed is ok for firewood, mulch, etc (but the bed is too thin and girly). The mandatory 6 foot bed is annoying. You can't even lay down a six foot ladder flat. It's a real loser to load with construction materials. The tailgate lowers to accommodate 8 foot materials. However 4' wide drywall, plywood doesn't fit between or on top of the wheel wells. Very annoying. Poor design. There's also a large blind spot when turning left or going around sharp left curves.
