So Far So Good!
I bought my SE Fusion model in May 2012, and was pleasently suprised! I traded in an '03 Cadillac Deville DTS for it, and let me tell you about the differences!!! The Caddy is a definite freeway cruiser, power everything, and leather for miles, but don't hope for anything that even resembles good gas mileage, because you won't get it! Lots of power, but you pay for it! And with 70K miles on it, things were starting to go wrong with it. Put it like this: If I was going to do a round trip from my house to the Ford dealer and back, it would use almost 1/2 tank of gas, and that's a 50 mile round trip! When I bought the Fusion, and drove home, the gas guage didn't even budge!
Replaced a 2003 XLS Avalon...
...this my second Fusion.. first was a 2010... yes, I was shocked when I parked the two next to each other... Both are almost the same length- its negligible at ...best for the Avalon... and the interior room is greater... but its a wider FULL-size car (insurance was 700+ for six months vs the Fusion is a midsize one with insurance at 850 lol. I enjoy the feel of the Fusion. Its more fun and engaging to drive... yes, its NINE years younger than the Avalon, but with 145k fewer thousand miles.. I hope its equally or MORE reliable. Started having electrical issues with it (battery terminal and cable burned somehow) and I wanted a fully loaded car with sunroof, leather, heated seats, and preferably a system like Sync for music and stuff. not to mention some version of spaciousness (couldnt get approved for the 2012 Azera I wanted) The Chevy version is great- had it in a rental Cruze LTZ, but this Fusion was a one-owner with 24k miles- still under factory warranty for the same or lower price as the newer and SMALLER Cruze LTZ. I will come back and update this review after Labor Day. I have a couple road trips coming.

2012 SEL FWD V6
The 2012 Fusion is an excellent family sedan and deserves serious consideration. It is roomy & comfortable to drive. We found the 4-cylinder engine to be a bit gutless on freeway entry ramps which is why we decided on buying one with the 3.0L V6. It accelerates far better than the 2.5L I-4. This is important for us since it will occasionally carry 5-people in it. The soft touch interior pieces are nice. The cabin is well insulated from road noise. The sun roof is great but it may be compromising for taller folk. SYNC is awesome as is the Sony 12-speaker sound system. The blindspot mirrors are a very useful and there's plenty of rear seat room for our 3-kids.
Repairs Already
My Fusion was purchased new a year ago and I took it in for an oil change and tire rotation. I was told by the service department I need four new tires and an alignment at $1000 even though the car is only at 22,000 miles. I was told it was my fault I have to replace the tires because I drive "too hard". When I told the dealer this was my third Ford vehicle (all purchased new) and I never had to replace the tires this early I was told again it was my fault and not faulty tires. I will never buy a Ford again. They don't stand by their products and blame customers even though this is the fourth vehicle I have purchased new and didn't have this problem with the other three.
This car saved my life
This car saved my life. I span out of control on a very busy intersection (due to my own careless driving) and this car truthfully saved my life. The safety features are superb. I would never have looked twice at a Ford before I brought this fusion, however, now I am a ford man. Definitely recommend.
