swear by mine
i ordered my 2006 ford fusion the way i wanted it. i have the 4 cyl. sedan sel. i haven't found anything about it i don't like . i switched rims put rain gutters on both sets of doors and in front of the sun and moon roof and it looks sharp. (mines red)i get complimented all the time .i also added a ram air kit (VERY SIMPLE) so it sounds as nice as it looks. for performance, gas mileage, and cabin and trunk space this car cant be beat.
FINALLY, I'VE FOUND TRUE LOVE!
I never thought that when I could afford to buy a brand new car, it would be a Ford! I went to my local Ford dealership about a mile from my home to get my cousin's 04 Mustang the 15k mile service. A salesman walking by the service area jokingly said, "Good morning, wanna test drive something while you're waiting?" I wanted to drive the 500, but opted for the Fusion. It was love at first sight! I have extensive back/spine deterioration and have to have a seat that is comfortable and adjustable. Add leather, heated seats, one-touch sun roof, 17 inch wheels, a whole lotta pep and six speeds ... WOW! I've had my Fusion five weeks today, and the odometer has gone from 36 miles to 1,905 miles.
2006 SE V6 Fusion
95 % commuter driving - car is very quiet, comfortable and gets 21 mpg in surface street commuting. 5 % highway driving - car handles 80 mph cruising effortlessly, very stable at speed, very responsive when need to pass, and gets 27 mpg
Great Car
I considered buying the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, and Nissan Altima; however I found all three of those to offer shortcomings. The Honda Accord's styling I found odd and ugly, the Toyota Camry's responses I found to be dull and slothful, and the Nissan Altima's ride was harsh and its styling looking too much like something a boy-racer would want. Then I saw the Fusion. It looked classy and sophisticated - a few people on the street thought it was a BMW until they saw the badge on the front. The car handles great, has great pep, and best of all the interior is genuinely useful - great car.
Hidden secret
How quiet of ride for front wheel drive, roomy insides, the underside with a full belly cover under the engine, and a vent going to the alternator in the back of engine to keep it cool.150,000 mile tune up, no timing belt. The head lights at night are very good design for road coverage.
