Used 2015 Ford Focus Consumer Reviews
STAY AWAY
I have had this car for almost a year and I have hated every single day with it. The car looks nice and has some nice features such as heated seats, heated steering wheel, back up camera and parking sensors, but the way it drives is absolutely terrible. This car does not drive like a normal car should. It is very very hesitant when you need to get up and go. Starting off it shutters like its about to stall. At first it was ok but it gets very annoying after a while and at this point I am looking at every option to get rid of this car. It also has a cheap build quality. I have had to had my rear passenger door adjusted because it was falling of the hinges. My drivers seat always comes loose and moves around while I am driving. Mind you this car is not even a year old. I have had to replace bulbs multiple times as well. I would HIGHLY recommend staying away from buying/leasing this car. There are so many other options and better cars for the money than this terrible car.

Transmission......
I bought this car brand new and had the transmission rebuilt at 20,000 miles. I am now at 40,000 and everyday I drive I can hear the transmission starting to slip again, and it gets louder as time goes on. It sounds like someone is crushing a empty water bottle under the car! I got a settlement letter in March and I finally put my foot down, and traded it in. My coworkers also own this car in the sedan version and also complain about this issue. This is a great little car, and great on gas. Very disappointed.

Trade: MPG for leg room
This is a good car for a single commuter. If everyone in your family is at a healthy weight and under 5’5”, it will seat 5. I’m 6’ tall and uncomfortable had a passenger sit behind me in the vehicle. The engine and tranny have been mostly good to me. The only major issue I’ve had was a wiring problem with the tranny. That was fixed quickly and fairly inexpensively (<$100). I bought the 6 speed manual tranny and bought the car certified pre-owned at under 20000 miles (which I highly recommend for the budget conscious shopper).
Great little car with a horrible transmission
I really loved this car when I bought it, but it has been trouble almost from day one. Right after I took delivery I noticed several flaws in the paint, bad moldings, and misaligned. trim pieces. Many other problems showed up over the next three years, but the biggest problem was the jerky transmission. Ford replaced the clutch pack once and it helped for a while, but the problems soon showed up again. I had hoped to keep the car for a long time, but in the end I decided to trade it in after the three year warranty ran out. The DCT transmission is a really bad design.

T-boned on driver side, not a scratch made on me
Not the ideal way to test how well a car is made, but I was t-boned on the driver side last week. The car was totaled. Windows smashed, driver door crushed shut. A hole was torn in the rear driver side door. Driver's side airbags deployed. I left the accident with a slightly sore neck and no injuries except for a quarter inch scrape on my knee. Passenger has a broken rib. Amazing.
