Overall my Ford experience this time around isn't the absolute worse the actual company has taken care of all needs and concerns. The dealership that I purchased from on the other hand was not great at all and the only reason I followed through with the purchase is simply that the person that drove me to get a vehicle left me at the dealer. It is funny and sad and horrible at the same time, I initially went to buy a completely different vehicle and before showing up to the dealer I called ahead of time to make sure it would be there as I was coming from over an hour away. I made sure the bank had the check made out to the dealer and had all details covered upon arrival, all I needed to do was test drive and sign. Well that didn't happen, upon arrival the vehicle I intended on buying was miraculous sold within the time of me speaking with the salesman and arrival. Not to mention they were not very receptive while I was there. So many red flags to not purchase through the dealership and against my own better judgment was pretty much left with taking what they offered me. Granted they did offer a vehicle with the next trim level up for the same price but what I have experienced with this vehicle. I would have been better off walking and riding a ten speed. Unfortunately, I bought this vehicle with 13,500 miles on it and within five months under 29,000 miles and the transmission went out. Luckily the warning on the dash alerted me way before I could get stranded anywhere. Prior to the transmission going out, within three months of ownership the battery during the routine oil change at the dealer mind you, while being looked over it did not fail the battery test but it also did not pass with flying colors. When I questioned the service department about it they said nothing was wrong with it. A week later after not being satisfied with the explanation and the car showing signs of a weak battery, I took it to a different Ford dealer and come to find out yes the battery was in fact needing replacement. Under factory warranty the new dealer replaced with no hassle. I am sure the other Ford dealer wanted to not due the replacement because of the factory warranty still being effective, shows me that they wanted money out of my pocket and not from Ford. My other hiccup and biggest pain with the car is the gas mileage absolutely sucks butt and has ever since the purchase and honestly if I could return it based on that alone I most definitely would in a millisecond. As the second owner I can honestly see why the first owner did not keep this vehicle.

Drives great but horrible mechanics and service

Hi, I've had my 2019 Ford escape 1.5 l all-wheel drive since March of 2022. I originally bought it with 54,000, mi. I loved how it drove and I like the space. My problems with the car started in July of 2022 with my flex plate at 70,000 mi shearing off the transmission. Thankfully I had an extended warranty and I did not have to pay out of pocket. Fast forward to September of 2023. I am at 87000 mi and I started having idling issues in a check engine light with a cylinder 2 misfire. After changing spark plugs thinking they needed replaced. The issue came back a day later and found out my car is burning coolant. I haven't heard back exactly what it is yet but it appears to be the block possibly has cracked. Ford does currently have a CSP on the car for this exact problem. But it only covers up to 84,000 mi... I'm not even a whole oil change past that and it won't be covered. Thankfully I still have an extended warranty so I not financially burdened. But it is the point that this is a major issue and does not matter of a miles. As much as I love the car and how it drives after I'm done using this car I will not be purchasing a Ford again even though that is all I've ever bought.

Engine problems

I wanted to like this car. It drives smoothly and gets up to speed pretty quickly. However, there was a recall which lead to an engine replacement around 32k miles. Not more than a year later, I started seeing white smoke coming from the exhaust. The turbo needed to be replaced/fixed. A week later it starts doing it again, it turns out it's issues with the head gasket. That was fixed and here I am a year later, no warranty, and white smoke coming out again. The nonstop mechanical issues are awful. Also, the back seats are awkward and it's near impossible to fit a car seat properly.

Happy it wasn't what I was looking for.

I love the size of my vehicle. I can haul quite a bit, like a bicycle or recyclables. Plenty of passenger space. I love the keyless entry and sunroof and power lift gate. 4 years and no problems.
