Engine problems
I wanted to like this car. It drives smoothly and gets up to speed pretty quickly. However, there was a recall which lead to an engine replacement around 32k miles. Not more than a year later, I started seeing white smoke coming from the exhaust. The turbo needed to be replaced/fixed. A week later it starts doing it again, it turns out it's issues with the head gasket. That was fixed and here I am a year later, no warranty, and white smoke coming out again. The nonstop mechanical issues are awful. Also, the back seats are awkward and it's near impossible to fit a car seat properly.

Happy it wasn't what I was looking for.
I love the size of my vehicle. I can haul quite a bit, like a bicycle or recyclables. Plenty of passenger space. I love the keyless entry and sunroof and power lift gate. 4 years and no problems.

Low Quality
Battery failed twice while under warranty. Local dealership does not have qualified service techs: they can't pinpoint problems, don't perform repairs correctly, take much too long (a week to replace a battery???), and charge way too much once the warranty has expired. Next time will consider VW (4 year warranty) or Hyundai/Kia (5 year warranty).
Great Car/Made Poorly
I love my car. I have a few complaints with it. The USB plug in the front area is in a terrible spot right behind the shifter. It’s very hard to plug a phone cord into it. It needs to be higher up and better accessible. The other issue is the wiring of the car. I’ve had over $10k in damage since March 2005 from squirrel damage. They’ve eaten most/all of my wiring upfront because the wiring is coated in soy. That’s a very unsafe material as eating the wiring can cause a fire. This has become a nuisance as well as VERY EXPENSIVE and TIME CONSUMING!!! I’m sure the design engineers can find another material to use on vehicles that won’t encourage animals to do so much damage. Something needs to be done on manufacturing vehicles!!!!!
