What I thought was a great purchase has ruined my Christmas. My perfect car has complete transmission failure---with ZERO warning---This is happening to A LOT of Escape owners at the 70K mark. AVOID THIS CAR.

I purchased my 2016 Escape new at the end of 2015. 3 1/2 years and 37,000 miles later the molding around the windshield has dry rotted, the carpet in the back is thinning, my child car seats have caused wear to the back seat, the back wiper goes on and off on it's own. I am currently waiting to hear from Ford after filing a claim for the molding dry rotting. I had a very difficult time getting the claim filed. I was in fact told to pay for it to be fixed and save the recipe. If Ford ever decides to issue a recall, I would be reimbursed. I chose to file the claim and now I wait. There is also a lot of road noice and sync has stopped working so many times that I have stopped resetting it.

Still loving it. Nice smooth ride. 16,000 already. Mileage down a little to 23.7, but drive mostly local. Feel very safe driving in this snowy March. Still loving it. Mileage up to 25+mpg. Many 300 mile trips to visit family on the other side of the state.

I have owned only foriegn cars i.e.: Toyota, infinity, and Honda for the last 25 years and didn't think I would ever buy a Ford. We drove every small SUV on the market and the Escape meet all of our requirements. We have owned it a month and have been very pleased thus far. We got the SE 2.0 Eco Boost. I think any engine smaller than that would be too small. So far so good. Loving this car.
