Wathc out for Passes
I love my Escape. I have never been so attached to a vehicle. That said, I have to get rid of it. I am currently replacing my engine for the second time. I get a misfire in a cylinder, and sure enough it trashed the engine. In talking with the tech, he believes it is due to my commute. I travel 120 miles each day to work, going over 3 passes. He figures the 4 cylinder engine, which is the same as in the Ford Fusion, just couldn't handle it. Even with all that, I still love this SUV. I always joked when I had to take the battery cable off to reset the SYNC system that since it was Microsoft I needed to reboot

2011 Ford Escape Limited V6 speed
Had this 2011 Escape since 2014. It had 40,000 miles on it when we bought it and it now has 155,000. Normal wear and tear. Two simple recalls. Always get my oil changes when I'm suppose to among other things. You take care of it, it'll take care of you. This thing is a beast. If you want more pep get the v6. The 4 is ok but it wears out quick. Escape is not a light vehicle. But overall, they're great! And where I live there's tons of them!!......Edmund's, you're trim selection is incorrect. There's no option for the Limited AWD V6.

Gutless and gas guzzler
I regret not getting the V6. The 4 cyl is a bit noisy for my liking. The torque is not what it should be either. I dont really notice great gas mileage. I'll fill up and drive 60 miles and the fuel tank is already down to 3/4 full. I've figured it out to be about 7 Liters per 100 KM (hopefully you can translate this into miles per gallon). I hope this improves as the car gets "broken in". Right now, it's got about 4000 miles on it.
