Escaping
I decided to wait until I had at least a few miles on the odometer before writing a review and now with 6k I can give a good overview. The Escape has proven to be a charming little SUV capable on and off road with certain limitations. It is built almost like the SUV's of yesteryear (think bronco) but with modern amenities and components. With only 4, it has kept well on the road including mountain driving and keeps up 70 to 80 with ease. Seats although comfortable become hard after a long haul however. Interior is built precisely for this kind of truck, modern yet simple and good looking, Light offloading handled with ease. For a family of 4 and coming from a bigger SUV has been fine.
More problems
In addition to problems I've reported earlier, (hoot, and poor build quality) I now have another issue. When driving in bad weather (heavy rain such as we've been having lately) water comes into the passenger compartment from below and totally drenches the interior floor. Another example of the extremely poor quality of workmanship. - This will definitely be my last Ford.

Super Vehicle
XLT Limited 6-cyl I picked up this car with 69K miles and it was a gem then and still is now. It is perfect. I now have 101K miles on it and have driven it to Idaho and throughout Texas. It is excellent. My gas in town is about 20-22 and on the highway 27. It has navigation, leather seats, heated seats, back up camera, everything I could want. I bought a 2013 when they first came out and I was awfully disappointed with it. That's when I went searching for the "box" again. Again, can't say it enough, I love it!

Overall great but known 4 parasitic battery drain
We have a fully loaded 2011 XLT tow pkg, running boards u name it!! It’s a great little truck but the problem is they’re commonly known for a perfectly good battery being drained by an unknown source. There’s a plethora of different possibilities for example 1. Number one source is the back windshield wiper motor will seize without ur awareness and with that it drains battery when turned off. 2. Sync or Radio, these components may not fully shut off when car is off resulting in a battery drain 3. Alternator wire connectors (can’t think of the name right now) but not the actual alternator it’s the electricity powering the altenaror that doesn’t cease when vehicle is off. 4. Ground wire (can be in many places) but one known area is under the ignition cylinder an exposed wire touching metal grounding out allowing for battery to drain and for ignition to think key is in at all times!! It can be a nightmare!! Otherwise it’s decent on gas, it’s an SUV 6cyl what do u expect?? It has some get up and go when u put ur foot into it!! Turning radius isn’t all that great, some bigger sedans have better. The stereo system is awesome I love the sound in these with having 6 speakers!! Would I buy again, no not a used one ever! But if I ever was in market to buy new yes maybe but I’d most likely choose a different Brand SUV if I had that kind of money to spend!! I’m just not a huge Ford fan, and I’ve had plenty of Fords!!
Loving my Escape XLT
