Don’t buy a Ford Edge
I bought this 2011 car two years ago at 145,000 miles. Ran like a dream just til last month. Water pump went out, timing belt, serpentine belt, radiator fan assembly, spark plugs, oil pressure sensor, crankshaft sensor, head roof motor, all had to be replaced. This all cost me $3400 minus the head roof motor and I’m still scared the car will crap on me again. It’s amazing on the inside, very comfy car. But the constant work on it the last two months is killing me. The main problem with these cars seem to be the water pump and that’ll cost you a pretty penny. Once the car knows you have money in your account, it’ll swipe you away.
Living on the Edge
I really like this car, lots of room in the back and front. Kids boosters fit fine. Drives like a dream. Take the time to learn how to use sync, it's worth it.

Should be Recalled
My 2011 Ford Edge is serviced regularly, just before the 5 yr mark it broke down while driving. Found out that there was water in the engine oil and I need a whole new motor at a cost of $7K for a car that was under 5 years old. Because i drive my daughtet to her club soccer tournaments on weekends the mileage was over the warranty and thus Ford would not warrant the motor. A car this new should not require a new motor! Something is definitely wrong with Ford and now the back up camera is flipped upside when reversing.

Problems with snycmyride but it's working now
I've had the Edge for two years. I have yet to get 27 mpg on the highway BUT it seems the gas mileage gets better all the time. It started (using what the vehicle's posting) at 18 mpg and it is up to 21.4 mpg with mostly city driving. I had an issue with the syncmyride - my dealership manager worked with me to make sure it was corrected - I had to get another phone before it worked correctly BUT then after the computer was updated that phone did not work! Then Ford said to look at the list of phones that were compatible with the car. And lo and behold after I bought the compatible phone it has been smooth sailing every since. My phones were all basic phones so the costs were minimal.
