Used 2011 Dodge Charger R/T 4dr Sedan (5.7L 8cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
My Second Charger
This in my second Charger R/T. I love wheat they've done to this car. Essentially they've gone back to the drawing board and a new car has evolved. This car turns heads everywhere I go. I have the R/T Rallye plus, fuel milage is excellent for a car that has nearly 400 hp. I get approx 20mpg in mixed driving. I really like the 'eco' icon on the info cluster that allows you to know when you're in fuel savings mode.
Short Term Delight
I bought an R/T plus with all the options used in 2013 with 32kmiles on it, based on the appeal of the styling, the power, and the convenience of a sedan. I got plenty of compliments on the looks of the car, and riders were impressed with the comfort and features. However, reliability was a question from day one, so extended warranty was a must and it paid off. The car's performance and features are great but the quality is just not there. The ownership experience gets old quickly as time, recalls, and repeat repairs start piling up. The engine is great but the 5-speed transmission does not downshift promptly to let the engine shine. There's plenty of power but the transmission manages to disappoint with its slow response. At times the car felt lethargic. Not what you would expect on a muscle car. I can see how the new 8-speed can vastly improve the performance. Cornering and braking are a whole different matter. The ESC has to work hard to keep the car from snapping if you push it hard. It's really not a great handling car. You can tell agility is compromised to have a tolerable ride. Brakes are ok on emergency stops but undersized for the weight of the car. Brake pads never quite got fully burnished and vibration was overwhelming when braking at moderate speeds. This problem is common to Chargers and Challengers, and no amount of disc resurfacing or proper pad burnishing would make it go away. Then the alternator diode thermal fatigue issue hit me when the car shut down and nearly caught fire. Luckily this happened right after leaving my driveway. The recall (one of several i had during 5 years of ownership) was out with no fix at the time so a new alternator was put in. I loved this car for the first few years, but I'm glad it's gone now. I still own a Jeep Grand Cherokee that has had it's own share of recalls and quality issues. Once that car hits the end of the extended warranty, it will take a lot of improvement for me to consider another FCA product in the future.

Great Car
I buy a new car every 4-5 years to use for a company car and I will have to say this car makes working fun again. Get the Hemi....it is worth the few mpg's you lose over the V6. My R/T has all the options and I can't say enough for the ease of use of everything. I get thumbs up from cars driving by and compliments at gas stations. Go drive one nothing else in its class compares.
Awesome Drive!!!
I love the drive on this car. It drives so smooth and its so spacious. I have test drove so many cars and when I drove the car I fell in love at first drive. I bought the car in 04/2011 and I have not had a problem with it. My son loves the car inside as well.
The best car I've ever owned
I love all of the options with this car, I also love the attention I get when I'm out in the car.. Everyone's head turns, and I've had people to stop me a lot asking about my Dodge Charger 2011 R/T. I do wish it got a little better gas milage. Over all it's a 4.8 stars in my book. This car is quiet, reliable, and fun to drive.
