What a nice Surprise!

Great for transporting to art fairs large pictures, etc. Easy getting in and out of seats - love the set up of being higher in the seats looking out the wide span windows, makes one feel like sitting in a small jet cockpit! I did however, pinstriped the sides at the top line with gold pinstriping and it really set it off! Did'nt realize how much I would use the cold glove box until I left them in it and came out from shopping and they were still cold! Great stereo! Wish I could do something with all of the lights going on after stopping and and then fading. Great riding in it - smooth, but a little noisy than my last Toyota. But a lot easier to drive. A well thought out car design.

***UPDATE*** March 2024 Had this thing through the winter and have to say it’s been solid. Outside of burning some oil and replacing headlights, I’ve had no issues with this thing. Only complaints are lack of power (common) and some uneven tire wear, possibly due to previous owner as I haven’t yet replaced tires. Gas mileage seems to average around 22-24mpgs, which is alright and the added ground clearance of the vehicle makes it awesome for situations that require it. It can take an extremely large amount of cargo for the size. I’ve put 50ea 8lb tough books (laptops) in it and had no issues outside decreased performance. If you find one of these mildly taken care of I’d say go for it, do a tune up, drop the transmission pan and immediately do a fluid change (not flush) and you should be alright. Purchased this rusty gem for $2600 privately. Having 148k on the odometer, clearly bad brakes and a couple codes come up (evap, O2, and TPMS) we put about $400 into it to clear up ALL issues, getting our total price to $3k after parts. This included new brake rotors, calipers, plugs, coils, and an oil change with deep cleaning. -Maintenance Car seems easy enough to maintain as I did all the fixes above myself and I can appreciate the space Dodge gave to the 2.0 (everything says 1.8 but it's definitely a 2.0) inline-4 setup on the car. Everything is right there and easy to access. - Build Quality/Features Initial opinion on this thing (already 14/15 years old) is that it was pretty well thought out. Outside is semi attractive and has stayed together nicely with some rust forming on the rocker panels (not yet to the subframe of the vehicle) and I can appreciate the plastic everywhere on the inside as soft-touch materials degrade much faster. There are just enough features in this thing to keep the average person happy and the sound is pretty impressive for an entry-level model. The rear hatch area is where this thing really shines though. We can haul kids in it but with the backseats down, this thing can have some stuff loaded into it. Not as much as other vehicles we own, but we don't always need to have such a large amount of space. Suspension may get a little tricky to work on but with no issues noted upon purchase, I didn't feel the need to dive into it. -Driving I've seen reviews of this thing being underpowered and can relate. Owning a Shelby, it isn't fast by any means, but it is built more for the economically minded driver and I would rate it adequate (barely). I've gone over 200 miles on the small amount of gas that goes into this thing (14 gallons) and can appreciate not paying for premium constantly or always being at a pump (I also have a 92' Crown Vic and 2010 F250). That being said it handles well for the roughly maintained streets in ND, going over bumps with some noise but not being harsh. Steering is actually really sporty and tight. Seats I'd rate as average as they aren't anything special but again, they've held up nicely (not leather). Brakes definitely work better now that they've been replaced, and it stops much faster than it accelerates for sure. Transmission is CVT... not sure how I feel yet about that but everything I've researched says that it'll hold up ok as long as we're not street-racing everywhere and overloading it with heavy weight. My understanding is pretty much everything is better than the same model year Nissans with the same type of transmission so we're hoping for the best there. Looking at the area where it's mounted, it didn't appear to ever have been replaced and seems like it's operating as advertised. If you've never driven one, it's quite the adjustment. Car seems to stay around 1-3k RPMs unless it's really pushed, with trans doing all the work to adjust the load/speed. -Overall Impressions I'm definitely impressed with this thing so far given what we paid and can only hope Dodge has kept the mentality on other vehicles since killing this model. This is the first attempt at a Dodge for us so we're still in the experimental phase of ownership at this point. I'll update this review after winter and detail cold weather operations!

Just bought the SXT and love it. Plenty of power, great handling, and fun features make it a joy to drive. Beautiful finish and design. Quality great. This is my first smaller car, and very impressed.
