Good minivan, terrible plug-in hybrid

The minivan is very comfortable, and I like the features that mine came with standard (adaptive cruise control, cabin noise cancellation really makes a difference (we had a standard 2017 Pacifica before without it and it was noticeably louder). My biggest "beef" with this car is the Hybrid Powertrain. I purchased this with the expectation that I'd be able to drive on electric for most around-town errands. But this hasn't happened at all. As it turns out, even when charged to 100%, the engine will turn on almost every time you turn the car on. You almost never actually drive only on electric, and this is really frustrating. Almost daily I need to run a short errand, only a few miles, and as soon as I start the car "Vroom" - the engine starts up almost every time, right at the beginning. I don't think Chrysler Engineers realized that if customers paid extra for a plug-in hybrid, we wanted it to actually operate as a plug-in hybrid - you know, allow us to drive on electric when the battery is at 100%. In the end, I only get about 25.4 mpg, which is a disappointment. (The Toyota Sienna does better and it's not even a plug in) So is it a good van? Yes, definitely. Is it a good plug-in Hybrid? No, not really.

So far I love this vehicle. It handles great, excellent fuel efficiency for daily commuting as well as family trips, and all the luxury options I was looking for in a high-end vehicle.
