Used 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Consumer Reviews
2015 HD2500 lubed
I have a 2015 Crew Cab 6.5 ft bed Silverado HD2500 4x4 LT. 6.0 vortec. Bought it used with 16,000 miles on it. Has 210,000 on it now. Service airbag light stays on. Had trouble with headlight burning out on right side. Wiring issue. It seemed to stump the dealer and has been an issue. 14 mpg. Best a driver can hope for. Dependable truck. Used Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil and Mobil 1 filter since day one. I keep the maintenance up. I use a grease gun myself and keep the front end lubed up. Change my coolant, transfer case oil, front & rear diff. Cabin filter... I hope to drive it 210 more, with no major issues. The truck just hauls me around. Takes me to the beach. Hardly ever has to do any work. I’d think it should hold up quite well in the future.

side mirrors are awful
Update: I posted this review a year ago, and continue to stand by my position. I purchased new bigger mirrors and had them installed. The mirror has the bottom quarter, closer to the door, cut off, to look cute and edgy. It is a faulty design, and they need to stop making mirrors like this for trucks. It makes it horrible to back the truck to park as I can't see the hind wheels nor the parking line. I have to open my window, after I park, to see where the tires are in relation to the lines. And when driving, I can't see the hind wheels EVER. The engineer that designed this, and whoever approved it, need to stop. Trucks need bigger mirrors, not smaller! Who would think that making a large truck's mirrors smaller (as opposed to the whole rectangle) was a good idea? I contacted Chevrolet, and they asked if I had been using the camera to help me back up. My response was yes, but the camera doesn't give me a view of the tires/wheels either. Looking into buying a new pair of mirrors. The truck rides hard, not very comfortable. But that’s somewhat expected for a vehicle that should be strong for towing.

Junker
I drive the truck as an oilfield lease operator. It is a piece of junk. The brakes started rattling at 15000 miles. It has had three sets of brakes with only 70000 miles. Both C.v joints have had to be replaced. The wind caught the doors and sprang both driver and passenger side. The airbag has been worked on twice. Runs decent and the ride is okay for a 3/4 ton, but something is always broke. Please rethink buying this truck if you have to work out of it.

What a truck!
The ride is harsh, compatible with a vehicle of this towing capacity. Overall it is an excellent truck.

Catchy Title for this Silverado
I would never again spend this much money for a vehicle that I had not personally inspected first. (It was located over 800-miles away and required shipping.) Yes, the seller had pretty much what I wanted, but because they're in the "sales" business, they're only going to share as little as needed to make a deal. (Their pics were great.) The vehicle came with some steering issues that have cost me another $1.2k to deal with, and there's yet more to be addressed in the 4WD mode. The dealer (or someone else) did a nice job cleaning it up, but golly gee howdy Bob, this rig has been rode hard and put away wet. As I used to say to my customers in another business, "There's no problem here that a little more money won't solve." And that's the case with this rig.

Chevy Silverado 2500!
This was my first Chevy buy, and it is a blast. I will never go back to a Ford again. The Silverado is very reliable, and easy to drive. I bought it about a month ago and it has had absolutely no problems. It is a must buy if you need a new car.
Why I did not buy
I bought a ram 2500 because Chevy/gmc dropped powertrain warranty from 100,000 to 60,000 (to save the consumer money). If General Motors doesn't stand behind there product than neither can I. Mind you this was the first truck I have had that was not a Chevy or gmc.
Worst buy ever
I have owned several new vehicles, this is by far worse than any vehicle I've had (new or old). Been back to dealership 4 times in two months, totaling 11 days in shop. I will never buy another GM product or from Apple valley Chevy in martinsburg wv.
