Most attractive truck in it's class!!
First off my package was not listed here. I have the Custom which comes with extended cab 4x4 5.3 6spd. If it was not for the sloppy transmission, I would have rated this truck a 5 star. I had owned a 2010 Silverado LS 4.8 4x4 prior and loved the truck besides the lack of power and gears on the highway. I live in western Pennsylvania, so both are a must to power through hilly roads. Power is excellent 300 ft/lb torque at 2k rpm and has great passing power when asked during my trips to pittsburgh on route 28. WIth the custom package you get the color matched bumpers which I personally feel is the most attractive option. Just aesthetically pleasing. You also get the 20 inch chrome clad wheels larger touch screen radio screen, auto lock heavy duty rear-end also improved towing capacity 9200lbs, trans cooler etc. Read the options carefully before purchase. i did not know until I signed the paperwork that the truck does not come with key-less entry(lol). Standard in just about anything you purchase these days. This was easily remedied with an aftermarket remote start. Back to the shifting issues. Most noticeable during in town driving. the transmission just doesn't know what gear it wants to be in. Real sloppy slowing down then accelerating. From what I read the dealerships are blaiming the adaptive transmission and stating that it should learn it self smooth. Not the case after 5k of driving mine. You have to be the one to adapt with throttle position. The other option is to put it into tow mode which will hang on to the gears longer. If it bothers you enough there is available in the aftermarket controllers that can tune the transmission shift-points. Over-all I am very pleased with the truck. It's comfortable enough for a daily driver and more then capable for hauling. I had towed a car and hauled 4k lbs worth of retaining wall block and she handled it effortlessly. My average fuel economy has been an honest 20mpg. I live 20 miles north of pittsburgh and work in the city, so if you are familiar with the area there is a lot of highway and a lot of stop and go traffic. I had also driven the truck to South Carolina, I averaged 22mpg. Aside from the significantly improved power, MPG and styling the truck comes with an armrest compartment and eyeglass holder, which seems silly but big deal for me. Over-all excellent truck!!

Don't buy a z71 4x4 silverado
Words cannot express my displeasure with my 2016 silverado z71. I purchased it brand new with only 10 miles on it. My first time on the highway was awful. This vehicle vibrates and shakes extremely bad. I took it back to the dealership and they told me it needed aligning, it was tire pressure from sitting on the lot, and even the suspension. I disagreed because it doesn't happen all the time. It rides good every now and then but for the most part it is horrible. I called the corporate office who stated that they have received numerous complaints about this and it was up to the dealership to get me out of it. The dealership has not worked with me and told me I was stuck with unless I accept the horrible offer they gave me to trade it in. I have never been more displeased with a vehicle as I am with this one. After the lies about the issues, I was told that is was operating as expected but yet their fliers read that they believe in making their customers happy. I am extremely upset with the performance of this brand new vehicle. DO NOT BUY ONE of these. I promise you will be as displeased as I am.

1500 Silverado is best in value.
I admit that Silverado is my truck of preference, given my last one lasted 16 yrs and 189,000 miles. Heavy rust issues from living in the northeast is what made it time to trade in. I test drove the Ford and though it was a nice ride, I thought the handling was OK and you can feel that turbo working. I really like the Ram and felt this came with great options and the best ride on the highway. I choose the Silverado because it had the best value without sacrificing anything. The new look of the Silverado is tough and sleek and the standard HID lights are really impressive. The handling is great and the ride is really comfortable. The crew cab is more than enough room for adults plus really handy to store away tool. I have owned it now for 4 months and can't say a bad thing about it. I do a lot of mix driving and am averaging 19-20 MPGs which is really nice. Shop around for the price but you can not go wrong. The LT model is a nice mid range with enough options but does not break the bank.

LTZ Z71 MIDNIGHT EDITION
I bought my 2016 Silverado LTZ Z71 MID-NIGHT edition in June of 2016. It was perfect for the first 2 months. After two months the transmission started to up-shift and down-shift really hard. I took it in to 3 different dealers they all told me it was normal after time the transmission would adapt to the way I drive and it would be smoth. Its been 1 year since I bought the truck and the transmission still shifts really hard. It is embarrassing to be driving a brand new truck and be so noisy while shifting from parking to drive or even while driving on the road. As far as fuel economy it does get good milage on the highway but you dont want to be stuck in city traffic. It is really comfortable and luxurious. I have read other reviews about how they say the truck vibrates alot, I think maybe road conditions have alot to do with it ? I drove my truck from california to Arizona and it was a smoth ride for the most part. Yet there is a couple highways where it does shake a little. Overall the truck looks amazing I get alot of compliments and heads turning when I drive around. I think you should buy at your own risk. I love my truck but hate the transmission problem Chevy needs to fix this Issue!

Comfortable!!
Great ride. Little road noise. Have to have running boards unless you are tall. Changing radio stations does lag, though.

2016 bought used with 6000 miles on it
So, I went from a 1999 that I bought new in 99, to a 2016. Without question the 2016 is quieter, more responsive and more comfortable. And mine does not shake. There is a lot I like about my new truck BUT, It does feel big compared to my 99 and it's so responsive in the steering that you just sneeze and your going in a different direction. Also, I can't seem to do better then 11 MPG and It's a 2WD. That, and I liked the storage, especially the overhead, better in my 99. With that said, I'm happy with my new Silverado. Great looks, comfort and the MyLink system is very cool. I also think that the 16 sits much better than the 14-15 model.

I'd Buy Another.
I bought the Silverado Work Truck new off the dealer about a year and a half ago-- 4.3L V6, white, as basic as they come. The only option on it is the tow package. I got a good deal because it was a lone leftover of the last model years stock, even though as far as I know it's identical to the next year model. It is everything you need it to be. There's plenty of power for daily driving, reasonable fuel economy, totally decent ride and handling for a leaf-sprung pickup. This truck has not let me down (unlike my previous vehicle from a competing domestic brand). Interior is dead simple but functional and even the base model has a couple of nice included features like cruise control that you wouldn't expect on this trim level, especially when you're still rolling up your windows by hand. I find these trucks a tad expensive for what they are but I can't argue with the fact that it delivers day in and day out and has never given me a single moment to doubt that it would. **UPDATE 9/2020: The truck keeps trucking. Not much to report. A leaking rear shock absorber was recently replaced under extended warranty. New Michelin tires were put on last week and you can feel the difference. Factory tires weren't that great and didn't last as long as one would hope. Overall still satisfied with my purchase.

Nothing like driving a Bow Tie
Insure you know about all the different rebates, incentives and financing options. Dealers, on a rare occasion, has additional dealer cash they can place towards your purchase. I've been driving Silverados over 20 yrs, and have never had any major issues or problems with my purchases.
