It's actually a shortbed, but no option to select. Powerful drivetrain, solid body, awsome ride, great options make the Silverado a pickup my choice. Test drove Dodge(awful tranny), Ford (not bad, but just didn't like the ride).

This truck is awesome! It is all I've ever wanted in a truck. My 4.8 has adequate power now that I have a K&N Cold Air Intake in combination with a Dual Flowmaster 40 series exhaust. The handling is great and at times I forget how big this vehicle is. This truck has been reliable with no major problems at all. Gas mileage is reasonably well, but like they say, "If I wanted MPG's I would have got a Honda!"

Overall very happy. Mileage was better than expected, equal the the Ranger 4.0 pig it replaced. Ride and interior comfort outstanding. Exterior looks leave something to be desired though. Plenty of power from the 5.3 V8, tranny shifts like a dream. I would buy it again.

Got this basic truck 3 weeks ago and love it. Especially price considered: Sticker was $18,590. Drove of the lot 4K below, $14,590. Seems to be a good truck for the money. No complaints so far. 16.7 MPG after 500 miles on the clock. Drives well, tight and smooth...Good seats for this old taxi/truck driver. Very happy with the deal and the truck.

The Silverado Work Truck is an ideal purchase for a working man who wants a truck that he can use for a reasonable price. The manual transmission, vinyl flooring and seats, long bed, and 4WD are ideal features, and in the WT package you can purchase this at an excellent price. This is my second truck like this in 4 years and I couldn't be any happier. My last truck was the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned and I put it through many situations in the woods and on the highway. I would drive the same truck even if I was a millionare.

4.8 V8 is tough, just as good as the 5.3 minus the extra torque. I test drove the V6 and found it to be poor. Wish I had a back cab at times, but the tonneau cover does fine when i strap things in. Bought this truck used with 20K on it. Haven't done much to it except air and oil filters/oil. The previous owner installed performance exhaust which roars and gives extra HP. I put on 17" 2007 avalanche wheels and 265 70 R A/T tires. Put on rear air lift suspension (airbags) and have been hauling anything from dirt, rock, stone, furniture, appliances, and tow a 5250lb boat/trailer. Its a half ton but with the bags i can easily load 1750 as i have scaled it at landscape vehicle scale.

My chevy truck performs excellently I have had no problems with it. It gets great milage for a full size truck. I get 21 miles around town, I haven't gone any long distances yet. I have plenty of power to pull a trailer or boat with no problems at all. I love the lay out of the inside over the f-150 or the Dodge Ram. The chevy sits just the right height you don't have to climb into the truck like you do with the Dodge. The Chevy is more comfortable and has alot better ride than either the Ford f-150 or Dodge Ram.

THE TRUCK OVERALL IS A VERY GOOD PERFORMER. I TEST DROVE THE FORD,DODGE AND TOYOTA AND I JUST FELT THE CHEVY WAS AN OVERALL BETTER PACKAGE. THE SEATS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE BUT IF YOU GET LEATHER MAKE SURE THEY ARE HEATED. ON THE VERY COLD DAYS THE SEAT REMAINED COLD A GOOD 25-35 MINS INTO THE TRIP. MILEAGE IS WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A FULL SIZE V-8 TRUCK

This truck is the only truck in the top 3 that isn't blown or has a Viper engine, DUH, of course it's not gonna have the HP of the others!! It has AWD though, and no Lim Slip in the back, so if you wanna go toe to toe from the starting line, I'm there. Take your heads out of your a$$es and give credit where credit is due. Oh, I'm sorry, how much did you pay for that Dodge? And did you get an extended cab with that Ford? Oh yeah, did you want 20" rims? Didn't think so, I'll be seeing you in my rear view mirror...

I have over 70,000 miles on this truck and it has never seen the inside of a shop for repairs. Routine maintenance is all that's require. Replaced the factory tires with Michelin ltx when they wore out and that has improved the ride and wet traction considerably.

First a few stats: Silver Birch metallic, standard 5.3L V-8, auto, all power options are standard, Z71 offroad package with fender flares, tow package, exterior mirror upgrade, and power seat. I've had the truck for one week and really enjoy it. I wanted the GMC version, but the Chevy dealer was more willing to work on the price. I hated the new Chevy body style (introduced in '03) until they came out with the crew cab, it really adds to the side view. Thought about the new F-150, but didn't like the interior or the brand new engine. I am an engineer and I would rather take my chances with new sheetmetal than a new engine and drivetrain.

I love this truck! I replaced a 5yr.- old compact pickup because I needed more power - boy did I get it. The truck has all the power and acceleration I need, along with car- like comfort. I've taken two fairly long trips already (over 300 miles each) and I've yet to grow tired of driving. I haven't used it for towing yet, but I have no doubt it will have all the towing power I need. I added a tonneau cover to the box, and that seemed to improve the gas mileage a little. Right now, I'm getting about 17.5mpg on the highway at 75-80mph - that's better than my old 4-banger, even with the higher acceleration.

I bought my first truck after having driven cars all my life, and its the best thing I have ever done. This truck drives more like a car than any truck I have ever been in. The gas milage is good for a truck, considering I am used to a 4 cylinder. But the power, the smoothness of the ride, and the overall styling of the truck make an eye catching upgrade to your day to day driving.

As a former Ford owner, I am a little disappointed. My Z71 has already been in the shop for over a week with misfiring issues in three seperate cylinders. Chevy has repaired, although they didn't give me a good explaination of what caused the problems. I LOVE the truck (ride, styling, 18MPG+, Power), but the reliability is clouding my mind. Performance is A1, sound system A1, dual heating/air A1, can't say enough about the way the whole truck is setup. Best yet in my book!! Has been a great experience driving this 4X4 Truck. THe suspension and handling have been superb. The 5.3L engine provides plenty of passing power on the road. I've been getting about 18mi/gallon. I'm 6'6" and what I really enjoy about the interior is the leg and head room. It was made for us large Americans. Try it you'll like it.

In shop once for Cruise control (couple other times for bed liner and stuff). Got about 5k on the truck and so far no big problems. Air leaks and squeaks already though, guess it will suck at 50k. A thirty thousand dollar car should be tighter longer.
