Chevy hhr don't buy
I have had my car for two years have put thousands of dollars into this car because I love the style. However there are too many issues the stereo doesn't work if it rains. This car has known wiring issues. Ignition switch recall that is a warranty more than a recall. Car has a shifting issue, fuel filters are cheap it will be a needed fix down the line. You can hardly get a mechanic well versed in the HHR. Please do not buy this car its not worth the money on the constant repairs especially once you reach 100,000 miles its downhill from there.

This car sucks gas and cash
The fuel lines are all rusted and need replacing and it's only 6.5 years old. I have had too many issues with this gas guzzler. Simple things keep breaking. Timing chain is already bad. Rear view mirror came off. Stereo works intermittently. Battery already replaced. Door handle broke off. Seat belts malfunctioning! I can go on...

Electronic Stability Controp
I've gotten rid of that car. Chevy waited until my warranty ran out before they were willing to do anything. I contacted BBB & they did contact Chevy in Lake Elsinore. CA but by then it didn't matter. I have purchased two new cars from Chevy and one used. I will NEVER purchase another Chevy again. Customer service gave me a terrible time & kept telling me they couldn't find a thing wrong. One customer service guy told me he knew of the problem because another customer came in with the same thing. Their electrical guy knew how to fix it but was out on medical leave and wouldn't be back for a while and there was nothing he could do. He was the only one that knew there was a problem and believed me but would not do anything. I've purchased a new car at another dealership.

getting 2nd hhr
love this car, immense carrying space, perfect for moving furniture, hauling long objects, separating gnarly pets, comfy, good mileage had volvos and bmws and would only prefer the classic volvo wagon over this on my 2008 version, frint visibility a bit limited i am traveling 250 miles to snag a newer, lower mileage version the 2008 i will sell to a friend still runs beautifully

Stealth Value~!
If you price out a car that does what this car does you will notice it is $ 4,000 cheaper than the typical offering in other lines , even including GM lines! It is a 4 cylinder motor. It is great for highway and city driving. It is not a torque monster. You do not want to buy this car to TOW a boat to Floirda from the hills of PA. I drive 25,000 miles a year. I have 80K on my HHR. I had it into the dealer once ( last month ) for a door lock / key FOB / RFID issue. The dealer could not figure it out. Everything else for this car was done in my Driveway or at Sears at the mall.
More like entry level!
I've had this car for about a month and a half now. What can I say? This car is OK, not good, not great. Good thing GM is offering huge discounts because it's not much better than some entry level cars. I was looking for something larger than compact after owning a van for a while. The size of this car is pretty good compared to small SUVs but, that's about it. A very loud Ecotech engines easily scares people at crossings but is kind of annoying (the older engine was quieter and you can't buy ethanol anywhere anyway). Bad gas mileage (not much better than the old van), creaks all around the dash and the outside air temp sensor is way off (5 -10 degrees). Go with Mazda 3 or similar.
Unsafe
You can not see out of this car. I am 5-10 and my head is in the roof and my shoulder is agaist the door. This is not a car its a coffin
