No one in DMV could tell me what model this was.......car/truck/suv/van????? Drove it two days after purchase from Clearwater, FL to Sierra Vista. Driveway to driveway 2062 miles with average 29.7 with normal I-10 cruise control set at 80mph. Shorter run to Phoenix got 31.9 on I-10 and in an around town w/ac so far 27.6. Rides great, handles great in and out of traffic and wife found it more than comfortable on trips with plenty of room for her shopping while traveling.

I bought my HHR to replace a Ford Focus. The HHR is much more comfortable and quiet. The car acctually accelerates and rides much better then i had expected. I am averaging 28 mpg and very happy whith my decision to purchase this car.

Updates "Smooth Ride" 7/22/09. 1,000 city miles after new oil cooler, HHR overheated, towed back to Rydell in Van Nuys. No compression. Diagnosis: head gasket, cost $3000, estimated 4 days in shop. Week later, still in shop, they said the engine block was cracked, needs new engine, cost $6,000, ready five days later. So $1,100 for the oil cooler and service and $6,000 for the engine. Wish I had bought a 100,000 mile warranty. HHR is well maintained, mostly L.A. city driving. Only possible explanation for block cracking is quarterly 800 mile round trip at 75-80 mph. Too much for 4 cyl engine? Would not buy another American car without long warranty.

I have had my HHR for about a week now and have put over 500 miles on it. It is great. The ride is smooth and it handles like a charm. The interior is comfortable even for a big guy like me. It has side air bags front and back, which is a great feature.

I was hesitant to get the new HHR, after driving a Kia Sorento for 2 years while sitting higher with better view. The 4 cylinder did worry me a little. No worries anymore as the HHR has great pick up and is really peppy, very cool and fun to drive, the White 2 LT model has OnStar,XM radio, sunroof, cashmere leather, high polished wheels, heated seats, rear spoiler and great sounding pioneer system with 6 disc CD. I love this car after our first trip got 27 MPG while using AC and driving 75 MPH (still less than 500 miles so it's not broken in yet). You can't go wrong with this car and the features you get. I highly recommend the Chevy HHR
