Electrical nightmare

When we bought our HHR It was our first new car. We thought it was going to be the last new car we would buy for a long time. Little did we know it was an electrical nightmare. The radio shorted out two times. The brake lights shorted out. The headlights would not go out. The inside lights stayed on and the door chime would'nt quit dinging. Then the electrical wireing fried under the dash. The dealer had to replace the complete harness from front to back. Now the wipers go nuts when they are on intermedant. The headlights are blinking off and on. Now the radio is starting to go out again. I wish we had bought something else. Never again

So far, the best car I've owned.

Although I've only had this car for about three months, I have really grown to like it very much. It is a fun car to drive. It handles very well, is comfortable to ride in, has a great sound system, and rides very well, with no rattles or squeaks. I bought this car to tow behind a motorhome, and it is equally well suited for that task as well. I was always a Ford man for years, but when I saw photo's of this vehicle when it came out, I just had to have one, and when I took it for a test drive, I was convinced, for sure.

This car was the worst investment I ever made. I've had problem after problem with this thing. The whole car should be a recall. The thing leaks water in the inside the gear shifter broke, blower motor went out, emergency brake cable snapped, I changed the air filter and the in take hose broke, and know the piece of crap is leaking anti freeze. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR. Also the chevy dealer is a bunch of scammers!!!!!

I purchased my HHR in the spring and loved driving it for about 8 months. Then winter came. The windows continuously freeze up. I have to scrape them to get them to roll down even though there is not obvious signs of freezing. The vehicle is in an unheated garage. I have also found the the struts are terrible. Every time I hit a bump, they squeak. With frost heaves in Maine, I squeak all the time.
