Run far and fast

Owned this car for six months, timing chain went bad then the rear main seal froze and poured all my oil out. GM knows about both problems, acknowledges them, but offers help to no one. Now after replacing my motor 3 weeks ago my car refuses to start and the delearship says the ECM has gone. Last GM I will ever own. Would prefer an 02 Kia with 200,000 miles right about now.

I purchased a 2013 Equinox LTZ with the 3.6L V-6 eingine. I am very impressed with the quality materials and refinement of the interior, the overall fit and finish, and the performance of the V-6. It is very comfortable, has lots of leg room, and is very quiet. If you are considerig a midsize SUV, you should test drive one. I bet you will be impressed with the quality, performance and comfort. I drove several other brands and they all felt cramped and inferior to the Equinox. This is by far the best quality mid-sized SUV I have found. I average 20MPG driving mostly around town and 23-24 MPG on the highway. I like everything about the equinox and highly recommend it.

Purchased this Equinox in early Jan, 2013. Had a Dodge Durango which I liked but was a gas hog and things starting to go wrong. The Equinox is great. The 2.4l engine isn't a record beater but unless you plan on doing a lot of towing, like a trailer and boat, is more than satisfactory. I read complaints previously about the 6-speed auto trans always shifting. Sure it is - it's 6 speeds. Gas mileage not great but plenty acceptable as I get a combined 27 mpg city and highway. Someone complained from Mar, 2016 that the windshield wipers quit during a monsoon - that is now a recall as the bearings are subjected to excessive water. Will be fixed/replaced free of charged at the dealer. The ride is smooth, handling crisp. Brakes feel mushy but from what I have learned that is normal for this car. The entertainment system is great. The information system keeps you up to date on mpg, tire inflation, time for oil changes, etc. Plenty of storage space. Only real complaint I have is about the driver's seat - is kind of hard. The 8-way adjustable seat is the way to go and helps a lot, but still kind of hard on the back of my legs. All in all, glad I purchased it. Now I see the new 2018 models are going with a 1.5L Turbo engine. In my opinion a bad move, but we'll see how that plays out as I plan on trading my 2013 in and purchase a 2018 in a couple of months.

It's safe, comfortable albeit a bit under powered with the 4 cylinder engine. Update, now with 125k miles plus, I'm still very happy with the car.

Worst car I've ever owned. It was fine the first three years. Everything went downhill after about 50,000 miles. Now it eats oil like crazy (we have to add a quart or more every month, and remember to check it every week or so) and the computer is all messed up... the dash lights go on and off whenever they want, the windows won't go up sometimes. And the fabulous warranty we bought on it doesn't cover anything. Trading it in very soon!!!
