Chevy knows whats wrong and won't fix it

There is a major issue with camshaft oil seal that causes multiple other parts to become faulty. Within 6mo of owning a pre-owned at 52,000 miles I was having oil consumption issues but was brushed off my 2 dealers. I began to ask for oil consumption tests but was told i would have to pay (which i learned later on is not the case). At every oil change, i would ask them to look for oil leaks, issues, or signs of problems but was given the all clear. Eventually my Equinox was stalling on the expressway and having shifting issues that cause me to get into a small accident. I finally took it to Genisis Chevy who actually listened to my complaints and issues and were able to find the Timing Chain to be completely eroded, the camshaft solenoids damaged, and the oil leaking from the Camshaft Seal. Being a poor College Student who saved to get a this car, the constant runaround telling me nothing was covered until i drove enough miles to make sure it wasn't covered under the warranty was extremely frustrating. CHEVY DOESN'T CARE about their dealers giving the clients a run around or the fact that they put thousands of cars with faulty seals on the road to cause harm to their clients or other people. If you have this car or years 2012-2015 please get this checked out! Don't let them push you around and put you $10,000 in debt of lost equity like they did me. I've put over $3,000 into this car fixing problems that should have been recalled, and Chevy only offering 1/3 of the cost for financial assistance. I could have died or cause serious damage to another person!!!

Stylish and comfortable with bells and whistles that I love such as the turn by turn navigation, the Eco button which saves on gas and the way gas prices are today, I'm glad I have it and takes regular gas...which is a plus, it has the pioneer premium sound system....hands,-free calling, rear-view camera....[non-permissible content removed]

I have 2000 miles on my 2013 Equinox 2LT, and have to say the car is great. Very quiet, the handling and ride are great. I am getting overall mpg of 28 and on the highway over 30mpg. I wish I had gotten the LTZ but I am very happy with this car and cannot find any faults with the exception of my phone book linking up with the my link feature. I called the toll free number and got a really helpful guy to set it up and worked fine but again is not linking up so have to call again. But overall a great vehicle. Now after 40k plus miles the car still runs and drives great. It is the most comfortable auto I have owned. I drive it 1300k miles to and from Florida every year and its a joy on the road with great handling and super mpg. Love this car. 3 years later and 48k more miles and I still love this vehicle. We have made numerous trips to Florida with this car often packed to the gills and still great ride, enough power and most of all quiet and very comfortable. Besides changing the engine oil on a regular basis and replacing the wipers nothing else has been fixed or needs to be fixed. Bluetooth is working good now. Will be using this car as my Florida car in a few years and hopefully replace it with another Equinox.

I just got my New 2013 equinox 2.4 LS. I just don't see anything to complain about in this car!. On the test drive I did notice the transmission down shifting, but so what? that is what the transmission does. I am impressed with the power for a 4 cylinder engine in this car. As for gas milage it is pretty much same as my old Geo tracker, but this car has more style, more room, more power and fun to drive. This is the best purchase I made for the price I spent, and I did look and drive few other vehicles before chooosing and buying this car.

1/14/24: Still have the Equinox! It's still running great with 125,800 miles. Planning on keeping it awhile longer--I enjoy having no car payment and cheap insurance premiums! 7/12/2023: Still have my 2013 Equinox! no complaints about it and am planning on purchasing another one 2-3 years old soon. I currently have 121,400 miles on it. It's never used a drop of oil and I have not replaced any parts on the car. Still rides and drives fine. :-) 1/7/22: I still have my 2013 Equinox! It's still running great. The only things I have done to it since my last review is put new tires on it and keep the oil changed. No mechanical issues at all, doesn't use a drop of oil. I plan on keeping it another 2-3 years--hopefully! Will be interested in another Equinox. Wasn't real sure what to expect when I bought this 2013 Equinox as a used vehicle three years ago. I have been pleasantly surprised. Purchased from a local Chevy dealership at a good price where they allow you to take the vehicle home over the weekend and drive it to see if you really like it. I did and still do. Have had no mechanical problems or repairs other than replacing a celenoid (sp?). This SUV is sooo comfortable with the big seats and leg room, especially in the back seat. Plenty of storage when the back seat is folded down; however, I don't like that the back seat doesn't fold down completely flat. That's actually my only complaint about this 2013 model, but I do believe they have fixed this on newer versions. I'm a lady and like the 4 cylinder engine that makes it great on gas--I don't need any more pick up than what the 4c gives me so I'm happy. It's got a decent-sounding stereo/DVD player, don't use the Bluetooth or Sirius options. I put new tires on it when I purchased it and keep the oil changed regularly. Have been very happy with this SUV.
