Used 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS 2dr Coupe w/2SS (6.2L 8cyl 6M) Consumer Reviews
I don't like driving anything else
Before you buy this car, know that you are not getting good gas mileage, know that you are not getting any passengers of any size in and out of the backseat easily, know that everything maintenance wise is potentially costly. With that out of the way I love my Camaro, I was semi prepared for all the drawbacks of owning this vehicle, but I would still buy it knowing all the drawbacks. I have a 6 speed manual, and it has GM's skip shift technology which makes you shift from 1st to 4th when you take off traveling less than 21 MPH (to save gas). I try to go faster than that because I don't like skip shift and there is no way (yet) to disable it. There is a blind spot due to the design of the car, but with the lane change assist in the side view mirrors and the backup camera that about makes up for it. This car moves when you hit the gas, it sounds mean and commands respek (yes I know I spelled that wrong). I feel like a whole different person while driving my Camaro, I become one with the car. I got an awesome deal when I bought it as it was the end of the month and only one 2016 left on the lot, they offered that one at 20% off. I jumped on that because I was only looking for a 1SS so I got the 2SS for less. I plan to keep this car forever, my 14 year old son is hoping he will be driving it in two years when he's old enough, I don't know we'll see, but yeah this is the best car purchase for me in my 43 years.

Dont Buy This Car!
I've had 6 Chevrolets, including 2 trucks, 2 Tahoe's and 2 Camaro's. I owned the 2012 Camaro SS and didn't have any trouble with it at all. My 2016 is an entirely different matter. I've had serious problems with major systems. The car has been in the shop 6 times for different (and some same) issues for a total of 22 days, including warped brake rotors, broken exhaust bracket, infotainment system issues, rear axle issues (a metal shard fell out of the axle within 2k miles), "leather" seat issues (the driver seat is coming apart at the seam), the remote start only works about 1/2 the time. I truly want to love this car due to its look and engine performance - it's simply poorly constructed. I have GM looking into taking it back and, if they don't, I'll get an attorney involved for lemon laws.

Stealthy and Sturdy
December 2018 - 2 years into ownership and the car with scheduled maintence performed (i.e. oil changes - tire rotations - fluids and check-ups by dealer) runs great. Everything is great except the following - The original runflat performance Goodyear tires were good to start and good handlers but wore down extremely quick and were magnets for nails etc. (i.e. they did poorly to deflect road debris and required several replacements) I have hazard warranty but kind of a pain. Anyway they balded quickly with proper rotations and were replaced after 15 months and had gashes and metal shard in them after removal. They were replaced with Michelin Pilots 4 SS which while not a run flat do not attract the road debris, perform excellent, and are wearing much more slowly after 9 months and protect the rims much better. Other is the aluminum wheel paint is pretty average in its durability when cleaning off the expected performance brake pad debris is loosing its sheen and in removing some caked on spots has proven that the paint does not adhere well to the primer. Other is on the steering wheel near the bottom the shiny black coating is blistering (another paint adhesion issue). The leather wrap around the top seat pull slightly moves away from under the escutcheon every few months and needs to be reset. November 2016 - The 2SS is a fantastic build. The automatic with the paddle shifters is awesome. I can drive in any traffic with one hand. And no worries with the 8 speed - it responds instantly to the throttle while my left leg and and an arm lounge in freedom. The leather seats, dash and door trims are very comfortable and adjustable. Front leg and shoulder room is great. the sun roof is perfect and allows the perfect amount of light and openness to the compartment even when closed. The back seat space increases the comfort, air and openness of the interior compartment space, has acoustic advantages, and creates the extra needed storage available from the interior of the vehicle. This car responds to all of my inputs whether that be to and fro. This one is built at the Cadillac factory and there is not a loose bone on it. Caution though - While this car is built extremely well for driving and cornering at a range of all speeds you might be tempted to anger authorities. So be careful when you use the *Launch Control*. Perhaps Cape Canaveral would be an appropriate location.

Get the V8!
I acquired about a camaro 2SS through email and Donna Lee from Chevy Phillips in lansing, il was there every step of the way. She was delight to work with when I got to the dealership and I couldn't ask for a better salesman. This is my second car purchase this year from Donna and she will always be my go to person. Always a pleasure. The V8 is the engine to get. the rumble from the car when you start it up will put a smile on your face. It drives effortless pass other vehicles. It lighter and hugs the road and the car is built solid and tight. I am never the person to worry about a backseat in a sport car. If I'm driving I'm not worry about who in back seat they need to get there own if they can't fit :)

Best Car I've ever owned, bar none
The complaint about rear visibility is true. As far as any enthusiast is concerned, it doesn't matter. Using mirrors and backup camera is essential and you will figure it out. The Gen 6 Camaro SS is the new Z51Corvette, it's that good. This car is so much fun and has so much power for a stock sports car(It's no longer a muscle car), it should probably be illegal. I would highly recommend a very good radar detector. I now have 12,000 miles on mine because I love to drive it. It's not my daily driver, so I can hardly wait for the weekend. Everyone, and I mean everyone who sees it or hears it loves the car. The only things I don't like about the car is the decals used for the stripes and the need for a clear bra everywhere on the car. I originally wanted the 2016 Mustang GT350R. With dealers jacking up prices and requiring people to bid on these cars, I couldn't find one for less than $90,000. You can buy 2 Camaro SS for that money. Dollar for dollar you can't find better. I have not experienced any problems with the car. There was 1 recall for a transmission cooler line. Mine has the 8 speed paddle auto and it is very accurate shifting. The 9 speaker Bose stereo is excellent. My wife loves the car too.
